Who is Rosalinda González Valencia?

Rosalinda González Valencia, often called 'La Jefa' is more than just the wife of El Mencho. According to some reports by InSight Crime, she has long been considered a key financial operator within the CJNG. Rosalinda herself comes from the influential Valencia family, which founded "Los Cuinis", the cartel's financial and money-laundering arm. According to the authorities, Rosalinda used to manage a network of legal-looking businesses for their cartel, including restaurants, real estate ventures, and hospitality enterprises.

These legitimate ventures were used to move and clean illicit profits. However, in December 2023, she was sentenced to prison in Mexico for money laundering and suspicious financial transactions. But VICE reports confirmed that she was later granted an early release after serving part of her sentence. For those unaware, she reportedly married El Mencho in 1996 and they eventually parted ways in 2018. However, there is no certainty that they legally parted ways. Yet, the duo remained close owing to their family ties and their kids.

Previously, Rubén and Jessica faced legal consequences in the United States for cartel-related activities. At the same time, Rubén was considered second in command in CJNG before his arrest.
