Postpartum depression is as real as anything can get. While the entire family's world suddenly seems to revolve around a little baby, sometimes it's the mother who has to silently battle the physical and emotional changes. Something like that happened with Malayalam actress, Durga Krishna, who has recently revealed that after having her baby, she feels like she has become 'invisible' to her husband.

Durga Krishna gets candid about feeling lonely after having her baby

Durga Krishna recently got candid about her postpartum struggles on social media. The actress took to her Facebook stories and shared her struggle with loneliness after having her child. Responding to a question: "You are holding your baby, but who is holding you?", the actress who welcomed her first child with husband and producer, Arjun Ravindran, in 2025, revealed how she feels she has become 'invisible' to her husband after the birth of their first child. The actress' note could be read as:

"I need to say this out loud: I am completely obsessed with my baby, but I am also struggling with a deep sadness that I can't explain to those who only see the surface. I'm drowning in the middle of all this love. The truth is, I feel like I've lost my husband and gained only a co-parent."

In the same note, Durga shared that she is absolutely obsessed with her child, but feels disconnected from her husband. She added that the person who looked after her for nine months suddenly just exists as a co-parent. She shared that she spends sleepless nights with the baby while her husband sleeps peacefully in the other room. She added that while she has changed roles, it feels like she has 'lost' her marriage too. She was quoted as saying:

"The person who looked after me during pregnancy has disappeared, replaced by someone who only sees the baby, while I have become invisible. I am the one who sacrificed my career, my body, my health, and my sleep. I am the one who stays awake in the quiet of the night while he sleeps in another room. I am holding my baby with everything I have left, but my arms are shaking because no one is holding me. I haven't just changed roles; I feel like I've lost my marriage. I am obsessed with the life I created, but I am depressed by the loneliness of the life I'm now living."
