The Canadian singer shared the news after keeping her baby bump hidden from the world for almost her entire pregnancy. However, while she has shared the joyous news now, speculation is rife that Drake is the father of the child, and his team has finally reacted to it.
Soon after Keshia Chanté announced her pregnancy, reports started making headlines that Drake was the father of his fellow music star and longtime friend. However, now TMZ has reported that Drake's rep has claimed that is not the case. Yes, Drake's rep is ripping apart the rumors, calling them complete and total "bullshit".
The buzz began after Keshia Chanté didn't reveal who the father of her baby was. However, she did imply he was a part of the music industry. That was enough for people to drag Drake into the conversation. While the rapper didn't react to the speculation, his team of representatives immediately shut it down.
For those who don't know, Drake and Keshia have known each other for years, which further led people to believe that he must've fathered her child. The Agency Group, Drake's rep, told the media outlet that they can completely and unequivocally deny the "inaccurate" rumors.
Keshia Chanté announced her pregnancy during a conversation with Hello! Canada. She revealed that she was extremely excited to be a mom and said that even though she is a "girlie girl" and had thought she'd have a girl, she is having a baby boy and is exhilarated to have some fun with all the boy fashion.
While Keshia Chanté couldn't be happier about being a mother, she admitted that the pregnancy brought its own set of challenges. According to the report, she had a rough patch in the first trimester. At the time, she couldn't hold down a sip of water and ended up losing 14 pounds. And now that she is feeling better, she can't wait to enjoy all the "mom things" she'll get to do. She was quoted as saying:
"Everything – every scent, every sound, everything – was overwhelming. I pretty much locked myself in my room for two months. I just have this idea of being the mom who decorates the home and celebrates every holiday, and puts notes in his lunch box. I imagine myself being some sort of Disney mom."
While Keshia Chanté didn't reveal the identity of her baby's father, she did comment on her relationship status and said, "I'm unavailable". She further shared that it was her baby daddy's idea that they become parents. The singer admitted that she is a free spirit and prefers to go with the flow. However, her partner said he was ready and set things up.
The soon-to-be parent confessed that she already has musical aspirations for their little one and will get him into the studio as soon as he can "coo – and hold that note!" Keshia Chanté is also hoping that her son inherits some of his father's traits. She said:
"He's brilliant and super creative and just constantly doing things that I'm inspired by/ So I would love to see my son have his mannerisms and his swag."
Meanwhile, for those who don't know, Drake is the father of one child, his son Adonis, with Sophie Brussaux, who just got married over the summer. The rapper usually keeps her love life away from the spotlight. However, he recently sparked romantic rumors with "goth baddie" Pinkchyu.
