Television actress, Divyanka Tripathi is all set to hop on motherhood after 10 years of marriage with her husband, Vivek Dahiya. Recently, the family hosted a baby shower bash.
Television actress, Divyanka Tripathi and her actor husband, Vivek Dahiya, are all set to welcome their first child together. The couple got married in 2015, and after a lot of speculation, they confirmed their pregnancy. Divyanka revealed that they kept their pregnancy a secret for the past six months and made fewer public appearances. Now, we stumbled upon their baby shower pictures.
Divyanka and Vivek's baby is due in June 2016, and ahead of it, their family hosted a godh bharai ceremony for the mom-to-be and the soon-to-be-born child. In pictures circulating online, the mom-to-be looked radiant in a maroon-hued suit. She styled it with a traditional gajra and gold jewellery.
In one photo, Divyanka was cradling her baby bump, and we could see her baby shower cakes. In another photo, Divyanka and Vivek were seen wearing 'dad-to-be' and 'mom-to-be' stashes. The baby shower was organised by Divyanka's close friend and former actor, Kiran Dubey. As per reports, Kiran and Divyanka have been best friends for the past two decades.
Divyanka also shared another set of pictures, wherein she was dressed up in a blue-hued kaftan-style dress. She tied her hair in a ponytail and looked adorable. Divyanka was posing with her best friend, Shraddha Arya.
Recently, in an interview with Vicky Lalwani, Divyanka Tripathi revealed that her baby is due in mid-June. She shared that the couple didn't want to have a baby at an earlier stage of their life. So, when they felt like it was time, they tried and God blessed them with a child. She added that they have no preference for a boy or a girl. She further added that she was able to hide her pregnancy for the full six months. She shared:
"The baby is due in mid-June. Vivek and I wanted the baby only now, we tried, and it happened. We are blessed. Our parents are ecstatic. I first broke the news to Vivek, and then we dialled our parents almost immediately. We don’t have any preferences, be it a boy or a girl. And yes, I must say that we managed to hide it for six full months. Actually, I hardly stepped out, and that did the trick."
Revealing how she was able to maintain secrecy around such a big development in her life, Divyanka shared that she stayed away from attending any public events. It helped keep the news away from the media glare. But recently, when Vivek attended an event, and she missed it, people started speculating the reason for her absence, and they started concluding that she was pregnant.
Talking about Divyanka's first reaction to her pregnancy, she shared in an interview with The Times of India. She added that she used to take the pregnancy test every month with those self-checking kits. She would wait for the lines to appear, and when she saw the double lines, it took her time to sink in. Divyanka added that they didn't celebrate the pregnancy right away as she became cautious of what she should eat and how she moved. She was quoted as saying:
"I was checking those strips almost every month, waiting for the lines to appear, and when it finally happened, it took time to sink in. When I told Vivek, we were quietly happy. I didn't celebrate right away. There was a shift in my mind and body. I became very cautious about what I ate, how I worked out, and even how I moved. I was suddenly extremely self-aware and protective."
