Recently, Dipika Kakar got emotional on her 8th marriage anniversary as she shared about her health crisis.
Dipika Kakar, the much-loved TV actress, is grabbing a lot of attention for her personal life. Earlier, in May 2025, the Sasural Simar Ka actress was diagnosed with stage two liver tumour. For this, she was undergoing treatment for the past few months. However, a new cyst seems to have reoccurred in her liver. Her husband, Shoaib Ibrahim, shared her current health update and revealed that Dipika will undergo surgery on February 24, 2026. Recently, Dipika herself opened up about her health and got emotional.
Recently, Dipika made a vlog on her YouTube channel to share about her health scar. The Bigg Boss 12 winner mentioned that she had been in pain for two days as a cyst of 1.3 cm reoccurred in her liver. She also experienced shoulder pain. Dipika mentioned that both she and Shoaib got scared and immediately consulted their doctor, Dr. Somnath. She added that as of now, they don’t know if the cyst is benign or malignant. She was quoted as saying:
"You guys must have seen in Shoaib’s vlog, a cyst of 1.3 cm has reoccurred again in my liver. I have been in pain for two days, and there has been shoulder pain too, like earlier. That scared both of us, and we immediately met with Dr. Somnath. It’s a heavy day for me, please pray. For me and all those dealing with cancer, there are chances of its recurrence; we don’t know as of now if this cyst is benign or malignant. Since we don’t want to take a chance, we are treating it like the other tumour."
In the same vlog, Dipika shared that in the near future, she would be on immunotherapy, and her targeted therapy would stop. She then shared her ordeal about her health and got emotional as she couldn’t enjoy her 8th marriage anniversary. The Sasural Simar Ka actress mentioned that she and Shoaib had planned to go out, but as the pain was severe, they couldn’t. She added that dealing with cancer and living with it is very challenging. In her words:
"Going ahead, I will be on immunotherapy, targeted therapy will stop. I am looking for courage; this is life, you never know what happens. Sunday was our anniversary. I had thought I would do something nice for Shoaib; we were planning to go out, but that’s not possible now, since the pain that aggravates is severe. I always say this, not just an illness like cancer, but any other illness, dealing and living with it is very challenging."
Dipika shared that although doctors had earlier told her that recurrence might happen, going through the process all over again is quite challenging. She called the day a heavy one as the whole process made her tired. She added that the health scar made her anxious as she thought about her little son, Ruhaan and her husband, Shoaib. She was quoted as saying:
"I say it was a heavy day because there is a phase where it happens, you get out of it, treatment is going on, and then it reoccurs. Even though doctors had prepared you for this, when it happens, learning about it again, and then thinking about Ruhaan, the family, and Shoaib makes me anxious."
Dipika is a popular TV actress. She rose to fame with the TV series, Sasural Simar Ka. She appeared in reality shows, Bigg Boss 12 and Nach Baliye. She became the winner of the show, Bigg Boss 12. However, 2025 was a tough year for her as she was diagnosed with stage two liver tumour. She was admitted to Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai and underwent a surgery that lasted for 14 hours.
