Bollywood actor, Vicky Kaushal, married Katrina Kaif in December 2021. Since then, we have witnessed the growing love between him and his wife, whether through pictures posted on social media or in interviews where they talk about their significant other. In one such interview, during his appearance on Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle, alongside Kriti Sanon, Vicky Kaushal spoke about where and how he met his wife for the first time. 

How and who introduced Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif to each other?

Vicky Kaushal, who is now a proud dad after the arrival of his and Katrina Kaif's baby boy on November 7, 2025, opened up about how he was introduced to his wife by a fellow celeb. Additionally, as one would expect from a Bollywood superstar, Kaushal found the love of his life at an award show. Recalling the incident on Two Much, he stated:

“The first time I met her was at an award show, which I was hosting, and she was a guest there. I performed 'Chikni Chameli' with her on stage, and in fact, I met her first on this stage only, and then we went backstage with Sunil Grover. This was the time when Sunil Grover and Katrina had worked together in 'Bharat', and they were friends with each other.”

Vicky Kaushal further explained that actor and comedian, Sunil Grover, acted as cupid in his and Katrina Kaif's relationship. Grover promptly took the opportunity while the three of them were backstage to introduce the now-married couple to each other. Spilling more details, Kaushal stated:

“So three of us are standing together, and I was there, and he (Sunil Grover) introduced me to her. During the first five minutes of meeting Katrina, she taught me how to host the show and what was left of the show was that I just had to go on the stage and say ‘good night to everyone.’ I had hosted the entire show by then; it was all done.”

Being the diva that she is, Katrina Kaif gave Vicky Kaushal a full-blown tutorial of how to host an award show. Among all the advice she gave him, the actor particularly recalled her telling him not to care too much about the audience. The couple might have been destined to be together from the start, as they met again at a SCREEN award show where the Chhaava star unintentionally proposed to Kaif in front of a live audience. Thinking back on their second encounter, Kaushal tells the hosts of Two Much, Kajol and Twinkle:

“During the second award show, I had asked Katrina, ‘Why don’t you get married to a nice guy like Vicky?’ We weren’t dating at that time.”

Apparently, their proposal was all part of an act, where Vicky Kaushal had to ask whichever heroine showed up on the show's stage the same question. This means that Katrina Kaif was not the only one he proposed to; however, only the couple's clip went viral on all social media platforms, leaving their fans gushing over their cute interaction. When asked about the dynamic between the two, Vicky Kaushal calmly responded that his wife is a much bigger superstar than he is and that she ‘always will be'.
