'Dhurandhar' Actor Aditya Uppal A.K.A 'Omar Haider' Recalls Receiving Threat Calls, 'Tu Bahar Nikal'

Aditya Uppal, who plays the role of 'ASP Omar Haider' in 'Dhurandhar 2', opened up about receiving threat calls, which were quite disturbing after his performance in the Aditya Dhar directorial.

Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar 2, also known as Dhurandhar: The Revenge has become the talk of the town ever since it released this year on March 18, 2026. While Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt and other actors' performances have been praised by viewers, it is Aditya Uppal who has emerged as the most talked-about performer from the film. For those unaware, in Dhurandhar 2, he plays the role of 'ASP Omar Haider,' a Lyari Task Force officer. Riding high on the success of the film, Aditya recently sat down for an interview with ETimes, opening up about the overwhelming response to his performance, his viral end-credit scene, and more.

Aditya Uppal reveals whether Dhurandhar 2 will have a sequel or not 

During the April 7, 2026, interview with ETimes, Aditya was asked if Dhurandhar 2 will have a sequel or not, especially considering the end credits. In response, the actor said that nothing is confirmed yet, while appreciating how well the director plugged the scene. He praised the scene further, saying it was beautifully positioned. Aditya reiterated that he does not know whether the director wants to switch to something else, especially since this kind of thing is not discussed internally with the team. Calling Aditya Dhar a "mastermind", the actor said that only he would know "what's next in this for him."

Aditya Uppal says “calls are coming” after his success with Dhurandhar

Aditya Uppal says that the success he has found with Dhurandhar is still sinking in. He said that there are some things you do and you're okay with, but when it comes to working on a film like Dhurandhar, that is what gets noticed. Even the “old people” who never remembered or called him are now contacting him. The same is true for his friends, Aditya said. Despite this, Aditya said that it is okay and that is the way people are showing him love, and it's a “beautiful feeling.” Aditya claimed that the best thing about it is getting his own self-respect back. He said that making a film like this can help you get your confidence back. Aditya added that Dhurandhar has been a beautiful journey for him.

Aditya Uppal on his reaction after hearing about the role of ‘Omar Haider' for the first time 

Aditya revealed that, initially, his character was narrated to him, and he did not receive the complete script, which is why he has no idea whether ‘Omar’s’ role was important or not. He added, “But yes, I knew that there was a journey with Omar, and before going to the end, Omar will turn the events down.” Aditya noted the beautiful direction in the second part and said that the audience might not even notice ‘Omar’ as he appears like any other officer standing with Sanjay Dutt. It is with those small scenes that the build-up is beautifully done. Following this, Aditya went on to say how it is a lifetime opportunity for him to share screen space with Sanjay Dutt, as he is a huge fan. He mentioned that they both had a nice rapport.

Aditya Uppal opens up about his thoughts after his last credit scene went viral 

When asked about how he felt to see himself trending on social media owing to Dhurandhar 2's end-credit scene, Aditya Uppal said that it was an amazing feeling. He said that he not only likes the work, but he also thinks that the scene is important in itself. He also confessed that a lot of people tagged him after watching the scene, saying stuff like, “Look, you are on my feed again.”

Aditya Uppal recalls the most memorable reactions from audiences  

As with positive comments, Aditya Uppal said there were many instances when he received negative ones. He said that people have said things to him like, “Tu bahar nikal, tujhe dekhta hoon main.” Aditya confessed that he even received threatening calls, “which were quite disturbing.” He had to explain to those people that he is not from Pakistan, but instead it is just a role he is playing.
