Desmond Scott recently broke his silence after his wife, Kristy Scott of 11 years filed for divorce from him, alleging infidelity. Here's what we know.
The internet is still recovering after one of social media's most loved couples, Kristy and Desmond Scott, announced their split. The duo, who were otherwise familiar among fans for their viral family brand, The Scotts, have officially gone their separate ways after 11 years of marriage. The news has left the couple's millions of fans heartbroken, especially after the court records revealed that she had filed for divorce, citing infidelity. As the speculation gained more attention on the internet, Desmond finally broke his silence on the matter with an emotional statement. Here's what he said.
On Saturday, January 11, 2026, Desmond Scott shared a new statement on his Instagram handle. In the new post, the influencer addressed the growing attention around his separation from Kristy Scott. Initially, he sought a public apology from his wife, family, and everyone around them who had been affected by his actions and the ensuing public scrutiny. He emphasized that, irrespective of the situation, Kristy would always be his priority, as the mother of his children. In his words:
"I know this news has been disappointing for many, and I'm truly sorry for the hurt it has caused. Kristy is the mother of my children, and that will always come first. I remain fully committed to being an active, present, and loving parent to our boys."
According to Desmond, the couple faced challenges in 2025 and made several attempts to resolve the issue privately. However, toward the end of the year, he made the final decision to separate and communicated this to Kristy. But during the same time, he made "certain choices" that he is not proud of. Although Desmond did not directly confirm the infidelity claims, he admitted that he had done some wrongdoing during that period and took responsibility for the same. Sharing the behind-the-scenes details, he penned:
"Kristy and I faced challenges and made sincere efforts to work through them. Toward the end of 2025, I wanted to separate, and I had conversations with Kristy regarding this. During this period, I made choices that I am not proud of. I took responsibility for those actions, I shared this with her directly and personally, and ultimately we decided to divorce."
Desmond Scott's public apology follows a report from TMZ, which revealed that Kristy had filed for divorce on December 30, 2025, in Harris County, Texas. According to the court documents obtained by the outlet, they cited infidelity as a primary cause behind his decision. They mentioned that it wiped out any attempt at a complete reconciliation. Further, the filing noted that the duo would soon stop living together as husband and wife. Yet, Kristy has maintained silence on the allegations, and the ex-couple is focused on maintaining stability for their two sons, Vance and Westin.
Kristy Scott and Desmond Scott's love story once felt like a modern fairytale. The pair met in middle school when they were just 14 years old, and they quickly became inseparable. They dated throughout their teenage years and got married in July 2014. Soon, they began creating content around their relationship, which brought them money, fame, and opportunities.
