On January 20, 2026, David Beckham made his first public appearance after his son, Brooklyn’s explosive statement. He attended the World Economic Forum's (WEF) 56th Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland. At the event, he smiled for the cameras, got engaged in discussions during a podcast and a meeting held under this year, 2026’s theme, "A Spirit of Dialogue." However, he dodged questions related to the family fiasco. A video shared by the publication, Star News, has gone viral, where the reporter asked the former soccer star, "David, do you have a message for Brooklyn this morning?" and "David, are you disappointed family business is being aired in public?" but he chose not to reply and smiled and walked away.
On January 19, 2026, Brooklyn Beckham took to his Instagram Stories to share a six-page statement, where he exposed the family secrets and opened up about the long-standing feud. He mentioned in the note that he had been silent for years while his parents presented fake narratives to the press. He highlighted that he doesn’t want to reconcile with them. He added that this had been the first time he stood up for himself. An excerpt from his long statement can be read as:
"I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed. I do not want to reconcile with my family. I'm not being controlled, I'm standing up for myself for the first time in my life. For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family."
In the same statement, Brooklyn shared how his parents, David and Victoria, tried to ruin his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz. He also mentioned how his mother, Victoria, cancelled making his wife’s wedding dress at the last moment. He added how weeks before their big day, his parents pressured him to bribe him into signing away the rights that would have affected him, his wife and their 'future chilren'. He wrote:
"My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn't stopped. My mum cancelled making Nicola's dress in the eleventh hour, despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress. Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children."
Further in the note, Brooklyn mentioned that his wife, Nicola, had been consistently disrespected by his family. He shared that his mom, Victoria, had repeatedly invited women from his past into their lives to make him and Nicola uncomfortable. He wrote:
"My wife has been consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we've tried to come together as one. My mum has repeatedly invited women from my past into our lives in ways that were clearly intended to make us both uncomfortable."
