A source close to David and Victoria Beckham shared the inside details from their rift with son, Brooklyn Beckham, and his wife, Nicola Peltz.
The Beckham family has been synonymous with close bonds, glamorous, and strong family values in the UK. But behind the scenes, the famous family has been dealing with a painful and growing conflict between David and Victoria Beckham and their elder son, Brooklyn, and his wife, Nicola. However, despite the persistent efforts to mend their bond, sources claim that all the reconciliation attempts have failed between the two couples. Here's what happened.
According to People, a source close to the Beckham clan revealed that David and Victoria made various attempts to reconcile with their elder son, Brooklyn, 26, and his wife, Nicola, 31. The insider explained that the football legend and his wife have repeatedly asked Brooklyn and Nicola to meet, discuss, and resolve the issues between them. But the latter seems in no mood for the same.
Further, the source claimed that the couple invited Brooklyn and Nicola to all their public and private family events, including David's knighthood ceremony and subsequent gatherings. For those unaware, the football legend was officially knighted by King Charles on November 4, 2025, in recognition of his services to sport and charity. However, Brooklyn and Nicola were visibly absent from the celebration. Their absence has further fuelled speculation that the family rift had deepened.
Despite David and Victoria's repeated efforts to rebuild their relationship with their son and his wife, things turned more difficult between them in the summer of 2025. According to The Sun, Brooklyn sent his parents a legal notice asking them to contact him only through lawyers. Additionally, he has requested that they refrain from mentioning or tagging him on social media. The same source claimed that Brooklyn was hurt by ongoing media briefings and wanted clear boundaries. On the other hand, The Daily Mail had earlier reported that Brooklyn decided in the summer of 2025 to limit direct communication between them.
Until December 2025, Brooklyn. Nicola, David, and Victoria no longer followed each other on Instagram. Moreover, Brooklyn also does not follow his younger brothers, Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 20, as well as his sister, Harper. Cruz had later addressed the situation on his Instagram Stories and wrote:
"My mum and dad would never unfollow their son. Let's get the facts right. They woke up blocked … as did I."
According to sources close to the Beckham family, the ongoing rift began from Brooklyn and Nicola's lavish 2022 wedding, where reports alleged family disagreements over Nicola's wedding gown caused hurt feelings between the actress and Victoria. Although no one addressed the buzz, the tension increased then on.
The family divide was even visible during the holidays, when Brooklyn and Nicola spent Christmas with her parents, billionaire businessman, Nelson Peltz and former model, Claudia Heffner Peltz, rather than with the Beckhams. On the other hand, David shared an Instagram post on New Year's Eve featuring moments with his kids, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper, 14. Brooklyn was missing from the grid, but later, David shared a throwback photo with Brooklyn on his Instagram Stories and expressed his love for them.
