Crocodile Caretaker Dies After Being Attacked, Harrowing Video Surfaces, 'He Couldn't Scream..'

Another harrowing incident involving a crocodile has left many scared. The crocodile attack happened at Adventure Park in Papua New Guineas capital city, Port Moresby.

An unfortunate incident occurred at the Adventure Park in Port Moresby, the capital city of Papua New Guinea. A crocodile caretaker was feeding the reptile when it grabbed him and chopped his legs in an attempt to drag him into the water. The harrowing incident happened on September 5, 2026.

A video shows how the crocodile took his caretaker into the water and grabbed his legs

A wildlife park worker died after a crocodile in Papua New Guinea attacked him. The man was inside a fenced enclosure at Adventure Park when he was attacked by the crocodile, which dragged him into the water. He was rushed to 3 Mile General Hospital, but he died from his injuries on September 6, 2026.

The man was taken to 3 Mile General Hospital for treatment, but died from his injuries on Sunday at 7 am. The video showed the worker clinging to the side of a pool as people tried to help him, but the crocodile had clenched its jaws around his legs. According to reports, the worker was trying to feed a chicken to the crocodile inside an enclosure.

That's when the crocodile attacked the person and tried to bring him into the pool. An eyewitness shared that the man was in severe pain, but he couldn't scream and couldn't properly speak due to the pain, which was clearly visible in his eyes. He said:

"He brought the chicken to the fence, and the crocodile attacked the person and tried to bring him into the pool. He was in severe pain, but he couldn’t scream. He couldn’t speak properly at that time. It was the pain I could see in his eyes. The only thing I could hear him say was, ‘I haven’t done anything wrong.'"

Another bystander was seen holding onto the man's arms at the edge as he kept yelling. As per reports, police shot the reptile before freeing the man, as visitors were asked to leave the park. The eyewitness revealed that the caretaker had lost a leg before he was taken to the hospital in an ambulance. The man was working as the caretaker for the past two years. The park had been closed since the incident.

For the uninitiated, the Adventure Park hosts a crocodile feeding demonstration, where staff interact with the reptile in the riskiest environment. The travel website of the place describes it as a family attraction. As soon as the video was shared on Facebook, netizens shared their thoughts.

One user wrote, "You can look after the crocodile for so many years, but crocs will never remember you." Another user penned, "Sorry for him, but that is a wild creature; you can’t just be kissing the mouth and sitting on it because you cannot tame or train a wild crocodile! And then they shoot it; that is a 100+ year old crocodile, but I hope he gets well soon." A third user commented, "And why didn't they throw more chickens at him so he would let him go?"
