Crissy Froyd recently sat down for a conversation with Mike Drop with Mike Asti, and revealed that after the scandal, Dianna Russini's name has been marred forever. The former NFL writer revealed that while both Russini and Mike Vrabel tried to play it off as "not a big deal", with the NFL coach even alleging that the pictures just showed, "completely innocent interaction and any suggestion otherwise is laughable." However, the netizens don't think so. For the uninitiated, it all began when pictures of Russini and Vrabel were published by a news outlet after their time together at a resort in Arizona.
Over the months, additional photos and videos surfaced, showing Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini allegedly kissing in a New York bar in 2020 and renting a boat together in 2021. And now Crissy Froyd's comments have raised some new questions. The former NFL writer asked if the public would believe Russini if she came out and spoke out about what happened. Froyd alleged that there were several reasons why Russini had stayed silent over the matter. She was quoted as saying:
"I think there are a lot of reasons she's not saying anything right now. But part of me questions… I think she'd have to supply a lot of evidence."
Crissy Froyd further added that, after the shocking statement Dianna Russini made earlier, when the controversy started, she doesn't have much ground to stand on. Froyd pointed out that her statement was proven false, which would further call her credibility into question. She was quoted as saying:
"I think after the indignant statement that she made, which has now been proven false entirely, and even what Vrabel said, I think a decent number of people will believe her but I think some people will go, 'You have no credibility, and you're a liar. You're gonna kick and scream and say this about this person, but we're not gonna believe you.' I think she will have to show some legitimate evidence or have people corroborate her."
The statement Crissy Froyd is referencing in the interview is the one Dianna Russini made when the photos first leaked, plus her resignation letter to The Athletic when she wrote that she was stepping away "not because I accept the narrative that has been constructed around this episode, but because I refuse to lend it further oxygen or to let it define me or my career." In the letter, Russini asserted that she had "covered the NFL with professionalism" throughout her career and blamed the media for engaging in "self-feeding speculation that is simply unmoored from the facts."
For the unversed, Crissy Froyd has become a well-known name in the Dianna Russini and Mike Vrabel row, especially after she lost her job over her comment on Russini's resignation. She has maintained that Russini isn't the only reporter engaging in this kind of behaviour, stating that the NFL has a "culture of corruption."
