NHL legend Claude Lemieux passed away at the age of 60. His passing sparked a sense of grief around. For the unversed, Claude Lemieux, the four-time Stanley Cup champion's passing was first reported by The NHL Alumni Association and TMZ Sports on May 28, 2026.

Claude Lemieux's career spanned two decades, and throughout the same time, he built himself as one of the well-known professionals, who was known for his playoff brilliance. After playing 1,215 NHL games and recording 786 points, Claude Lemieux retired from the NHL back in 2009, and continued to thrive in the NHL world, even after that, as a successful player agent. The most feared NHL player, Claude's passing left the NHL world mourning. Now, some new details about his sudden passing surfaced, along with an emotional post from his son, which carries a different meaning now.

Claude Lemieux's son found him dead at the warehouse when he didn't return home

If the reports by The AP and ESPN are to be believed, Claude Lemieux's passing hit the headlines just after he appeared at the Bell Centre during the Eastern Conference Final. On the other hand, another report suggested that it was one of his sons who found his dad dead at their warehouse, after the family was worried about him not returning to his home. He was found around 3 a.m at night.

To mention, Claude was married to Deborah, with whom he shared two kids. Claude was a father to four kids, one daughter, Claudia and three sons, Brendan, Michael and Christopher. It was not confirmed which of his sons found him dead at the warehouse.

Claude Lemieux's family reportedly asked for privacy, and as of now, no official comment from his wife or son has come through. One of Brendan's old posts has been going viral now. The post was about Brendan's father, and now, with his passing, it carries an emotional weight with it. For the unversed, Brendan followed his father's footsteps and played several NHL seasons for teams like the New York Rangers, Winnipeg Jets, and Carolina Hurricanes, before moving to the Swiss League (HC Davos) back in late 2024.

Well, with his dad's passing, their fans now dug out an old post of him, wherein he shared a fan's adorable tribute to his dad, which was done by the fan getting Claude's face inked on his arm. Sharing this photo, Brendan wrote:

"Someone sent this to my dad today, man, I love hockey fans."
