'Walker, Texas Ranger' Fame, Chuck Norris Tragically Passes Away At 86, His Family Requests Privacy

Martial artist-turned-actor, Chuck Norris passed away at the age of 86. His family confirmed his demise with a heartfelt note on Instagram.

The star behind the much-loved series, Walker, Texas Ranger, Chuck Norris has tragically passed away at the age of 86. For those who do not know, he was a popular martial artist-turned-actor. It is worth mentioning that on March 19, 2026, the actor was hospitalised following a medical emergency. Now, his family confirmed his death through a heartfelt post on Instagram.

Chuck Norris’ family confirms his tragic death

A while ago, Chuck Norris’s family took to his Instagram handle to share a black-and-while photo of the actor. Along with it, the family penned a long and heartfelt message, in which they shared details about Chuck Norris’ death. While the family preferred to keep the cause of his death private, they explained that the actor was surrounded by his family members till his last breath. The family also stated that while everyone knew Chuck Norris as a martial artist, he was a great husband, father and grandfather in his personal life. A part of the note can be read as:

"It is with heavy hearts that our family shares the sudden passing of our beloved Chuck Norris yesterday morning. While we would like to keep the circumstances private, please know that he was surrounded by his family and was at peace. To the world, he was a martial artist, actor, and a symbol of strength. To us, he was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, an incredible brother, and the heart of our family."

Further, the family revealed that Chuck Norris lived his entire life with faith, purpose and commitment for the people he loved. He also inspired millions of people through his work. Towards the end of the note, the family thanked all his fans for their prayers while the actor was hospitalised. They shared that they are heartbroken and devastated by his tragic demise and requested privacy in such difficult times. The last part of the note said:

"While our hearts are broken, we are deeply grateful for the life he lived and for the unforgettable moments we were blessed to share with him. The love and support he received from fans around the world meant so much to him, and our family is truly thankful for it. To him, you were not just fans, you were his friends. We know many of you had heard about his recent hospitalization, and we are truly grateful for the prayers and support you sent his way. As we grieve this loss, we kindly ask for privacy for our family during this time. Thank you for loving him with us. With love, The Norris Family."

More about Chuck Norris

According to a report by People Magazine, Chuck Norris was born in 1940. After completing his schooling, he joined the Air Force, which became the turning point of his life. During this period, he learnt karate. Even though he struggled at it in the beginning, his commitment towards it eventually made him a multiple-time karate champion. Years later, he began teaching karate in the United States.

It is worth mentioning that some of his students were celebrities, who encouraged him to pursue acting. Later, he met Bruce Lee, who eventually cast him in The Way Of The Dragon. Over the years, he appeared in A Force Of One, An Eye For An Eye, Missing In Action, Code Of Silence and more. He rose to worldwide fame with Walker, Texas Ranger.

Talking about his personal life, he was previously married to his high school sweetheart, Dianne Holechek. The ex-couple shared two sons as well. However, they got divorced in 1989. Later, he tied the knot with Gena O'Kelly and the couple welcomed twins in 2001.
