Christa Pike's attorneys have confirmed that she has been discharged from the hospital. In fact, she has also returned to the women's prison where she spent approximately 30 years of her life. The 50-year-old's return to prison is a major development in Christa Pike's recovery after an execution, which went completely wrong. However, her discharge does not mean that she has fully recovered. Rather, the death row inmate has described that the experience was severely traumatic for her. For those who don't know, Christa has made progress in her physical recovery. Her legal team also mentioned that doctors are impressed by her improvement. In fact, she has also started eating and regained her ability to walk with physical assistance. Despite these developments, Christa still has some serious injuries. Her arms were severely burned and blistered after receiving two doses of pentobarbital during the execution attempt. She was also treated for a blood clot in her arm and pneumonia during her hospital stay.
Initially, Christa's condition was more critical. She was reportedly placed on life support and declared brain dead before she unexpectedly gained consciousness and began to speak.
