Celina Jaitly, a famous Bollywood actress, once filed for divorce from her estranged husband, Peter Haag. On January 26, 2026, when India celebrates Republic Day, Celina wrote a letter to her sons, reminding them of their desi roots. She has alleged that she has not been granted access to her kids despite filing for joint custody. Hence, she wrote a letter to her kids, hoping they would retain their half-Indian identities.

Celina Jaitly pens an emotional letter to her three sons as she cannot reach them

Celina Jaitly's letter is of great importance, as her brother, Major Vikrant Kumar Jaitly, has been detained in Abu Dhabi since September 2025. Celina, who has an Army background, keeps sharing posts for soldiers and their families. Celina addressed her letter to her dearest Winston Viraaj Arthur and wrote that she, their mummy, is writing to them here as she cannot reach them. She revealed that her heart is very heavy as she could not watch the Republic Day parade with them. She and her kids used to do it together every 26th Jan. A part of her note read:

"I cannot be there to sing the National Anthem for you, to tell you to salute & cheer when your Nana’s Kumaon Regiment, Dumpy Mama’s Para SF, or great grand Nana’s Rajrif contingent marches by. Hope you remember how mummy cried every time Nana’s regt. marched by. My eyes fill with tears but I also smile thinking how you 3 would have been elated to watch."

Celina Jaitly does not want her kids to forget their Indian roots

Celina further mentioned in her post that she hopes all three of her kids will be allowed to watch the Republic Day parade. She hopes her kids will be allowed to be true to their Indian roots and not be forced to erase their Indian identity. Celina revealed that this is why she is writing to her children here, hoping someone will make them read this. Someone who understands how devastating it is for a mother to be alienated from her beloved children. A part of their note also read:

"My loves ..do not forget you are half Indian. You belong to a lineage of great honourable men & women. The blood of the man eating tigers of Kumaon & the veer Rajputana Rifles Flows in you. You are also OCI, Overseas Citizens of India. Your roots are of great valour vedic culture, timeless traditions & an advanced ancient heritage."

Celina Jaitly does not want her kids to fall for any regressive narratives

Celina further noted that the Indian Army’s Canine Contingent features indigenous breeds such as the Mudhol, Rampur, and Rajapalayam hounds. She also revealed that the Chief Guests for the Republic Day Parade 2026 were Antonio Costa, President of the European Council, and Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission. It shows how wonderful Indo-European relations are. She does not want her kids to fall for any other regressive narratives. Celina addressed her kids, telling them that the Constitution of India came into force on January 26, 1950 and was the result of a long freedom struggle. Celina further revealed that she had not heard her kids' voices for ages and that she could not make samosas. In her words:

"Cannot believe I haven’t heard your voices for ages. I would have made samosas today but I guess that now lies in a happy future with Maa Kali’s blessing. I hope my letter reaches you. As Nana always said, yaad rahey
Naam Namak aur Nishaan."
