Her talent agency, Alexanders Talent Management, confirmed that she died on September 1, 2026, announcing the news in an emotional Instagram tribute the next day, on September 2, 2026.
Jeffery was best known as 'Bree,' the bubbly cheerleader in Disney Channel’s hit Zombies franchise. A child actor who joined the industry when she was 12, she also appeared in Curb Your Enthusiasm, Shake It Up, Southland, and iCarly during her two-decade career. While social media platforms are flooded with tributes, Carla’s last Instagram post has now grabbed a lot of attention.
Carla Jeffery undoubtedly became a popular face with the roles that she played on screen over the years. Outside the entertainment world, she kept in touch with everyone by sharing glimpses of her life on Instagram, where she accumulated more than 200,000 followers.
For the unversed, her last social media post was shared on July 27, 2026. Notably, Carla attended American Housewives star Meg Donnelly’s 26th birthday at that time, and her Instagram post featured glimpses of the same.
Carla Jeffery added multiple photos to the post, including some solo snaps where she was wearing a black outfit. A video was also added to the post, where Meg was spotted blowing out the candles on her birthday cake. As mentioned, Alexanders Talent Management revealed the news of Carla Jeffrey’s death through Instagram on September 2, 2026 (ET). The statement revealed that Carla joined the talent agency when she was 12 years old. The company wrote that they had the opportunity to witness Carla becoming a talented woman whose smile was sufficient to change a lot of things. The statement also reads:
“As Bree in Disney’s hit Zombies franchise, Carla shared her joy, humor, and bright spirit with audiences around the world. Carla was more than a client; she was family. Our hearts are with Carla’s family and loved ones during this devastating time. We respectfully ask that their privacy be honored as they grieve this unimaginable loss.”
Born on July 10, 1993, in Houston, Texas, Carla Jeffery started performing as a child to overcome shyness, taking acting classes alongside her twin brother. Her first screen role was the 10-year-old version of Mo'Nique's character in Phat Girlz.
Before Disney, she was a part of various other projects. She portrayed 'Keysha Black' on HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm for two seasons, plus appearances on Lie to Me, Awkward, Suburgatory, Scream Queens, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and Netflix's American Vandal as 'Sierra Sherrington.'
Carla Jeffery was a competitive cheerleader with the Midwest Marauders in Cincinnati when she was 9 years old. This experience also helped her land her most beloved role as 'Bree.'
