She has now doubted the authenticity of Erika's marriage to the late Turning Point USA co-founder, Charlie Kirk. The right-wing shared her views on the latest episode of the podcast, in which she claimed she no longer believes the couple's relationship was genuine.
Cadence Owens made a strong claim in a podcast on June 25, 2026. She told her listeners that she does believe Charlie Kirk and Erika Kirk's marriage was ever authentic. She added that she was firm on her views. These comments come months after Charlie Kirk was fatally shot while he spoke at an event in Utah Valley University in September 2025. After his death, his wife, Erika Kirk, came into public focus. In fact, she has become the CEO of his foundation, Turning Point USA. At the same time, Erika often shares tributes to her late husband and shares her feelings over the loss of the father of her kids. Meanwhile, in Candace's words:
"I do not believe, and I want to be clear here, that his relationship with Erika Kirk was ever real. I am firm on that now."
Although Ownes insisted that he had become convinced the marriage was not genuine, she did not have any documentary proof during the podcast. Instead, she said that more people came forward with information that strengthened her belief. None of the claims she made during her broadcast was independently verified. At the same time, there is no public evidence to confirm Owen's claims. On the other hand, Erika has continued to publicly honour her late husband through interviews, speeches and social media posts. Months ago, Charlie's death was officially classified as an assassination, and there is no official information that connects Candace's allegations to the investigation into his death.
Before Charlie Kirk's death, he and Erika were often seen as one of the conservative movement's most popular couples. The pair reportedly began dating in New York City in 2019 before they got engaged. Eventually, they got married on May 8, 2021, in an intimate ceremony in Scottsdale, Arizona. Instead of having a large wedding party, the couple held a private ceremony with their close family and friends. Erika often described Charlie as the love of her life and called their relationship her favourite story.
Together, they built a family and welcomed two children: a daughter in 2022 and a son in 2024. After Charlie's death, Erika stepped into a leadership role at Turning Point USA and continued to share memories of her husband. In fact, a few days in May 2026, on what would have been their fifth wedding anniversary, she shared an emotional tribute about celebrating life together.
After Charlie Kirk's death, Erika shared that they always hoped to have four children together. During an interview on The Megyn Kelly Show in late 2025, she shared that she was praying she was pregnant with their third child when Charlie was killed. She described it as the "ultimate blessing" to come out of the tragedy. In fact, she also shared how deeply she wished that they had more time together to grow their family. Erika also encouraged young women to focus on their family and shared how losing Charlie made her realise how quickly time passes. Meanwhile, she continues to raise their two children while honouring her late husband's legacy.
