The 26-year-old photographer and entrepreneur recently took to his Instagram account and shared a lengthy, emotional statement addressing what he called "years of lies" and "controlling narratives" about his family. He shared a strongly worded message on Instagram Stories, in which the 26-year-old claimed he no longer wants a relationship with his family and is finally standing up for himself. Sharing how his parents have controlled the narratives around their family for years. In his words."
"Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed. I do not want to reconcile with my family. I'm not being controlled, I'm standing up for myself for the first time in my life."
Additionally, Brooklyn alleged that his parents, David and Victoria, have long shaped the narrative around his family through targeted social media posts, family events, and inauthentic relationships. He claimed that they would "go to any lengths" to intentionally plant stories in the media and preserve their image. Likewise, he alleged that they circulated the rumour that his wife, Nicola, controlled him, calling it a "completely backwards" narrative. "My family values public promotion and endorsements above all else. Brand Beckham comes first. Family "love" is decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo opp, even if it's at the expense of our professional obligations."

Things became serious when Brooklyn's brother, Cruz, claimed the former had blocked their parents on social media. Later, a source close to the Beckham family told People that David and Victoria made repeated attempts to reconcile with Brooklyn and Nicola. They also invited them to family gatherings and private meetings. However, those efforts reportedly failed. Instead, The Sun reported that Brooklyn sent his parents a legal notice in mid-2025, asking them to communicate with him only through lawyers and to stop mentioning or tagging him on social media, which intensified the situation.
