Amid the family feud, a throwback interview of Brooklyn Beckham surfaced, in which he heaped praises on his parents, David Beckham and Victoria Beckham.
The Beckham family is in the centre of the limelight, and it is not for good. The family was previously speculated to have issues, but they recently found themselves in the middle of a huge controversy. For the unversed, David Beckham and Victoria Beckham’s eldest son, Brooklyn, recently released explosive statements on his Instagram Stories. In his statements, he accused David and Victoria Beckham of controlling him and trying to undermine his marriage to Nicola Peltz.
In the post, he accused his parents of controlling the family’s public narrative for years. He also claimed that David and Victoria have spent years carefully managing their family's public image through curated social media posts and staged appearances. Amid the family fiasco, Brooklyn’s 2025 interview surfaced recently, in which he gave a completely different narrative about his family and parents.
During an interview with InStyle, Brooklyn spoke about his parents, Victoria Beckham and David Beckham and their perfect marriage. Talking about his childhood, Brooklyn revealed:
“I always know how long they’ve been married because it’s just my age. had a crazy childhood, man. I was so happy. It was hectic because my dad played football and my mum was a Spice Girl. Spice Girls was the first few years of my life, so it was hectic. We were always doing something.”
In the same interaction, Brooklyn revealed that, despite their busy schedules, his parents always had time for their four children. Brooklyn also opened up about growing up with famous parents and revealed that he never wants to change anything about his famil,y as he has the best parents. In his words:
"I have the best mum and dad in the world and it was a lot of fun. I used to go to all the concerts—really good memories. I wouldn’t change anything. Everyone’s always like, ‘How is it like to have famous parents?’ I’m like, ‘Honestly, they’re just my mum and dad.’ I don’t think of them any other way."
After Brooklyn Beckham’s marriage to Nicola Peltz, there were rumours that all is not well in the Beckham family. In 2025, Brooklyn renewed his wedding vows with Nicola and David and Victoria, along with their children, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper, were not present in the ceremony. Similarly, when David turned 50, neither Brooklyn nor Nicola was present at the celebration, which intensified the rumours of tension in the family.
On January 19, 2026 (ET), Brooklyn released an explosive six-page statement on Instagram, accusing his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, of long-term manipulation and attempts to sabotage his marriage. He alleged that they hurled "endless attacks" and spread "lies" about him and his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham. Mentioning why he decided to break the silence regarding the rift with his family, Brooklyn stated:
"I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed. I do not want to reconcile with my family. I'm not being controlled, I'm standing up for myself for the first time in my life."
