Brooklyn Peltz Beckham finally opened up on the long-standing feud between him and his family. Here's all the allegations he levied on David Beckham and Victoria Beckham.
Brooklyn Peltz Beckham, 26, and his parents, David Beckham (50) and Victoria Beckham (51), have been the centre of a highly publicised family drama for quite some time now. A rift between the celebrity couple and their eldest child reportedly arose after Brooklyn's marriage to his ladylove, Nicola Peltz Beckham. The conflict between the two sides centres on deep-seated grievances regarding control, public image, and the Beckham family's treatment of Nicola. Recently, Brooklyn confirmed that he is estranged from his family, releasing a lengthy statement.
On January 19, 2026 (ET), Brooklyn Peltz Beckham released an explosive six-page statement on Instagram, accusing his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, of long-term manipulation and attempts to sabotage his marriage. He stated that he has no desire to reconcile with his family. Brooklyn claimed that his parents have controlled narratives in the press his entire life to preserve the image of the Beckham family. He alleged that they hurled "endless attacks" and spread "lies" about him and his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham. Mentioning why he decided to break the silence regarding the rift with his family, Brooklyn stated:
"I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed. I do not want to reconcile with my family. I'm not being controlled, I'm standing up for myself for the first time in my life."
Brooklyn refuted the claims that his wife controls him, claiming it was instead his parents who controlled most parts of his life, to an unbearable extent. It led him to grow up with "overwhelming anxiety", and he feels lighter now that he has stepped away from his family. Brooklyn is proud of the choice he made between his wife and his family, as he now lives in peace. He further stated that all he wants is a quiet life with Nicola, away from media buzz and other external interferences. He mentioned:
"The narrative that my wife controls me is completely backwards. I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life. I grew up with overwhelming anxiety...I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose, and have found peace and relief. My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation. All we want peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family."
Brooklyn alleged that his parents have tried "endlessly to ruin" his relationship with Nicola Peltz Beckham since before their 2022 wedding. He claimed they pressured and "attempted to bribe" him into signing away the rights to his name weeks before the ceremony, an agreement he said would have affected his wife and future children. According to him, it was one of the countless attempts David and Victoria made to sabotage his wedding. Brooklyn's exact words were:
"Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children. They were adamant on me signing before my wedding date because then the terms of the deal would be initiated. My holdout affected the payday, and they have never treated me the same since."
Brooklyn accused his mother, Victoria, of "hijacking" his first dance, claiming she danced "inappropriately" with him in front of 500 guests when he was scheduled to dance with his wife. He also confirmed that Victoria cancelled making Nicola's wedding dress at the "eleventh hour", leading to a significant inconvenience for his wife. He recalled how excited Nicola was to wear the dress; however, under pressure from Victoria, she had to go through an ordeal to find an alternative. According to Brooklyn Peltz Beckham, his family kept trying to change his mind about the wedding right up until the night before the ceremony.
He alleged his family told him Nicola was "not blood" and "not family" the night before his wedding. It showcases their unwelcoming nature towards Nicola. Even post-marriage, she faced unnecessary ill-treatment from the Beckhams, leading to Brooklyn's estrangement. He claimed that Victoria Beckham has repeatedly invited his ex-girlfriends to family events to make him and his wife feel uncomfortable on purpose. Brooklyn claimed to have tried his best to get his wife to blend in with the family; however, there were no efforts from the other side.
According to Brooklyn Beckham, David Beckham did not want Nicola Peltz Beckham at his 50th birthday celebration. Brooklyn claimed his father refused to meet with them privately in London unless Nicola was not present, which Brooklyn described as a "slap in the face." Brooklyn saw David's birthday as a scope for reconciliation; however, the alleged treatment he and his wife received from his parents made it a distant dream. All these incidents added to Brooklyn's grievances against his family.
