With the rise of beauty treatments and plastic surgeries, people are at more risk of severe allergic reactions. The bride, Polly thought of trying classic eyelash extensions ahead of her big day. Before the treatment she had a patch test and since she had no reaction, she proceeded with the treatment in July before her wedding day.

Polly chose a USD 88 eyelash treatment, and she was satisfied with how it looked on her. But within few hours after the treatment, came the worse. Her eyes became watery and sore and she shrugged it off as a symptom of hay fever. Soon, it was followed with sting and her eyes started sticking together with a yellow discharge.

It was a trial for her big day and she had never got her eyelashes done. However, after four or five hours, it was her partner, who found her eyes red. She revealed:

"By that evening, they had gone red, raw and were stinging. The only way I can describe [how I looked] is the man from ‘The Goonies’ with the big puffy eyes called Sloth. I just didn’t look like myself. I looked like a different person."

Polly stated that her eyes were burning and it got to a point where she thought she was losing her vision and couldn't see at all. Everytime she tried blinking, her eyes would stick together and a discharge would build up. She also shared that the nurse who treated her was shocked. And when she got her false lashes removed, she felt like acid was being poured onto her face. She still has a blurry vision. The bride-to-be said:

"I was screaming, crying and tensing up. My eyes are still red, scabby and very ‘rashy.’ The eyelids themselves are really swollen, and I’ve still got quite blurry vision. When people joke around and say things [can] go wrong [on your wedding day] — I didn’t realize it would happen to me."

Polly further added that she won't be choosing to get eyelash extensions for her big day, and rather would stick to using mascara. She added that she wouldn't wish anyone to go through such pain.

What do you think about the bride, Polly's beauty treatment going terribly wrong?
