Brad Pitt's Estranged Kids Reportedly Change Phone Nos. As He Vows Reunion, 'He'll Do Everything...'

Brad Pitt's estranged bond with his six kids is not unknown in Hollywood. But rather than being dejected by it, he is reportedly hoping to rebuild this relationship with his six children despite years of distance. According to some latest sources cited by the Daily Mail, the actor has found that his kids have changed their contact details. Still, he is determined to find a way to reconnect with them.

Brad Pitt reportedly plans to reconnect with his children 

According to a source close to Brad Pitt, he views Angelina Jolie's reported plan to spend more time living abroad as a chance to rebuild his bond with his kids. Since all his six children are adults now, Brad is reportedly hoping that some may be open to reconnecting with him without relying on their mother. However, the source suggests that he understands that the process will need more patience. The insider was quoted as saying:

"Angie now intends to live out of the States more, and Brad's hearing it, it doesn't appear any of them plan to relocate with their mother. That could serve as an opportunity to try to get at least some of them back in his life."

The insider also claimed that Brad plans to take advice from some mutual friends who have stayed on good terms with him and his ex-wife, Angelina. He allegedly hopes that those friends can help him to understand how to approach his kids without creating more conflict.

According to the source, Brad had once tried to contact his kids. But he found that they had changed their phone numbers. Sharing how he is determined to try again, the source said:

"As unlikely as that sounds, he's going to give it his best shot. It's definitely a case of when the cat's away, the mice will play for Brad. In the past, he's tried to connect with the kids even though he felt sure Angie would shut any communication down. What he's found out is they've all changed their contact info. That's not going to stop him, though. He'll do everything in his power to unite with them again."

Another source close to the actor's camp said that Brad would want a relationship with all six of his children. But he does not intend to rush into connecting with them. Instead, the actor's reported focus is to make it clear that he is available for them. In fact, his girlfriend, Ines de Ramon, also supports his wish to reconcile.

For those who don't know, Brad's reported estrangement from his children became public when they filed to legally change their names. Shiloh filed to change her name to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie after she turned 18 in May 2024. Vivienne became Vivienne Jolie for her Broadway production of The Outsiders. She even produced it with her mother.

Later, Maddox legally dropped the 'Pitt' surname, and Zahara has used the name Zahara Marley Jolie in public. Eventually, she filed to change her name legally. Alongside, Knox reportedly omitted Pitt from his high school graduation diploma. These decisions made headlines and brought attention to the depth of the family rift.

Still, Brad has continued to speak affectionately about his children in public. At the 2020 Oscars, where he won Best Supporting Actor, he dedicated part of his acceptance speech to them. He also praised Shiloh's dancing and Zahara's college journey. Recently, his twins with Angelina, Vivienne and Knox, turned 18 in 2026, which has changed the family's custody arrangements.

Why are Brad Pitt and his children estranged?

The end of Brad Pitt's relationship with his children goes back to his 2016 split with Angelina Jolie. The actress had filed for divorce after an alleged conflict on a private jet. The former couple and their kids were going from France to Los Angeles. Later, Angelina accused Brad of having physically and verbally abused her, which allegedly affected some of their kids. He denied the allegations, and an FBI investigation also filed no criminal charges against him. 

Still, the following divorce and eventual custody battle lasted for nearly 8 years. It created more distance within the family. Brad recently admitted that he sought help through Alcoholics Anonymous after the separation. Although, he got joint custody in 2021, Angelina challenged it. She raised concerns about the fairness of the proceedings and the welfare of the kids. In the end, their divorce was finalized in 2024.
