Suniel highlighted that while people thought being his son, Ahan had a lot of work, but the reality had hit him hard. He added that his son went through a lot in his life. He was quoted as saying:
"One day, after his first film, there was a little break. You know, there’s always turmoil in our lives. Everyone thinks, yes, Suniel Shetty’s son would have got a lot of work. But somewhere or the other, there’s a lot that Ahan went through in life."
On December 16, 2025, Ahan Shetty took to his Instagram handle and shared a heartfelt note reflecting on his journey in Bollywood. He shared that it has been a long journey since his first film, Tadap, was released four years ago. He highlighted that it was a journey of patience, growth and self-belief. He mentioned that his comeback felt 'deeply personal'. He also expressed his gratitude to the people who trusted him for Border 2. The note shared by him can be read as:
"It’s been a long journey since my first film, Tadap, was released four years ago. A journey of patience, growth, and self-belief. Coming back feels deeply personal, and being trusted with a film as powerful as Border 2 is an honour beyond words. Grateful, proud, and ready for what lies ahead."
For those unaware, Suniel Shetty was part of the 1997 film, Border, directed by JP Dutta. In Border 2, the spiritual sequel to the 1997 film, Anurag Singh stepped in as the director. The sequel was produced by JP Dutta, Nidhi Dutta, Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar. During the same event, Suniel expressed his gratitude to Nidhi and JP Dutta for offering his son, Ahan, a lead role. The Border actor shared that from a father’s point of view, he was 'indebted' to them. Later, he prayed that his son, Ahan, might have done justice to the role and wished for the film’s success. He was quoted as saying:
"That’s why I have always been indebted, and I use the word ‘indebted’. I am not saying a thank you, but I use the word indebted to Nidhi. Nidhi is like my little daughter. For Nidhi to take Ahan in such a big film is a big thing. So, from a father’s point of view, I am indebted. I just pray that he has done justice and the film works for all of us."
