This was after Bonnie was placed in a medically induced coma back in May 2026, after she had to undergo an emergency intestinal surgery back in Faro, Portugal. Now, in a piece of good news, Bonnie is no longer in a coma as shared by her team and her family members.

She was hospitalised after she had to undergo an emergency surgery. Her team now revealed that Bonnier is no longer in coma but has a slow journey to recovery. The statement started off by stating:
"No longer in a coma, but remains very unwell and in intensive care. Although her condition is improving it is a slow process. Her doctors remain confident that she will make a good recovery but it is going to take time. We apologize to all of Bonnie's fans and to our promoter partners for the disappointment that this will cause but trust that you will understand and bear with us in these difficult circumstances. We hope to see you next year instead.”
Bonnie Tyler's representatives revealed that her health condition was slowly improving. She does remain ill and reportedly continues to be in the ICU. The singer was set to perform two dozen of shows in Europe by the end of 2026. Bonnie's team had stated that they were hopeful that the shows planned would be executed in the distant future. Bonnie Tyler's manager had earlier revealed that the singer was put into an induced coma by her doctors to aid her recovery. The manager shared that her fans wished her well and had also asked for privacy during this tough time. The manager, earlier speaking about Tyler's surgery, had mentioned that it had gone well and that she was recuperating.
According to reports on the social media it was in April 2026, that Tyler had started experiencing a lot of “intense abdominal pain shortly after arriving in Portugal, where she has a second home, following inconclusive tests in London. She was then taken to the hospital as doctors observed a tear in her bowel and she had to undergo an emergency surgery. Bonnie Tyler was then placed in a medical induced coma because of the complications that had arised from the surgery. She reportedly also had a cardiac arrest after doctors earlier tried to retrieve her out of coma weeks ago.
Bonnie Tyler's family thanked their fans for the huge outpouring of love and support from around the world. The statement from Bonnie's family also read that they wanted to tell that the singer is aware of, and very grateful for their good wishes. Bonnie's family continue to ask for privacy and has promised to issue further updates as soon as there are significant developments to share. Bonnie Tyler has always been passionate about music and has always considered herself fit. She loved doing shows as mentioned by her in interviews.
