Raghav Juyal's film, Bhai Tera Star Hai is winning hearts already. Over the years, Raghav has made a strong footing for himself with his presence in reality shows and then made his name with some hit films. His recent film in the solo lead shows him having fun on-screen, but the storyline of the movie falls flat.

Bhai Tera Star Hai storyline

The story revolves around 'Ajay' played by Raghav Juyal, who has borrowed money from 'Fatty' played by Sanjay Kapoor. The first half shows 'Fatty' giving 'Ajay' an ultimatum to repay the debt before the night is over. There is another plot that involves 'Sid' played by Vivaan Bhathena, who is on a mission to recover money he had lent to his exes with his friend 'Laila' (Barkha Singh), who joins the adventure.

The story shows supporting characters coming and going out of the plot. However, no matter how great Raghav's acting is, the storyline isn't that strong and isn't able to do justice to its name. The first half begins with the promise of laughing-out-loud comedy about a man who fantasises being a star. The ending also does not save the film and seems abrupt. Niki Walia, who is playing Sanjay Kapoor's wife, was able to add some energy into the scenes.

Netizens react

Those who watched the film took to the social media handle, X, and penned their views. One user wrote, "#BhaiTeraStarHai Review: Rating: 3/5 There is the skeleton of an entertaining comedy buried somewhere inside Bhai Tera Star Hai. But weak writing, stretched plotting and loud performances prevent it from finding its rhythm."

Another user commented, "Bhai Tera Star Hai Movie Review: Raghav Juyal And Niharika NM Star In A Loud Empty Parade Of Missed Gags!  Strictly Avoidable! Critics Rating: 1/5 Box Office Rating: 1/5."

Mayank Shekhar also talked about the film and wrote, "Let alone motivations of its characters, the real problem with a movie is when you can’t tell the motive behind the movie itself.  This one, Bhai Tera Star Hai, starts off with aerial shots of central London’s skyline. Okay, there’s UK’s rebate policy for film productions the filmmakers must have benefitted from. Great! You follow then the movie’s hero, the self-proclaimed star from the title, young Raghav Juyal (Kill, Yudhra), in netted banian, randomly dancing to a track, a la Hrithik Roshan, emerging from the poster."

He further wrote, "Everybody’s a star in their loving family’s eyes. I’m sure he will love this too. It’s some vanity project, after all (I think to myself). But he can’t be the only one in a pic this long. Hence, a series of characters, hovering between multiple bars, in London. Wherein, the hero owes a pub-owner some cash that he must repay by midnight. Sanjay Kapoor plays that barman. In his youth, Sanjay, literally, missed out on becoming a Bollywood star. He’s so good. I feel for him (being here too)."

He concluded the post by writing, "There’s another bloke (Vivaan Bhatena) taking chakkars of pubs, trying to get money owed to him by buddies & bartenders. Given the setting, the censors are clear: there will be a huge warning sign against smoking and drinking, permanently on the screen. I’ve read it a few times, already. If I had such dull randos as in this film to hang with — the rotating likes of Ajay, JD, Fatty, Jacky, flakey, lacky, teri… — I’d give up drinking, for sure. What about watching movies?"
