He has a past connection to a powerful gangster, 'Ghilli Bala' (played by Mohanlal), whom he met at a mental hospital.

Calling the film a 'paisa vasool entertainment', an X user wrote, "Thank you, Dhananjay! #BhaBhaBa is pure theatre material! Loved the whole atmosphere. And the 2nd half and climax literally owned by this man with an extended cameo!!! Dileep is back after a while with a solid performance! Totally a paisa vasool entertainment!! Go for it."
Another user called the comedy action a 'festival-season entertainer' and penned, "#BhaBhaBa one word review: Madness perfect festival-season entertainer with solid making. Dileep shines throughout, while Dhyan and Vineeth Sreenivasan deliver strong performances. The OG’s #Mohanlal entry turns the theatre into a stadium mode." Lauding Dileep and Mohanlal’s chemistry, a user wrote, "#BhaBhaBa: Freaking Madness. No logic, Ghilli universe City. Ghilli Bala. Great making. The story was okay, but screen play and making were good. The Dileep and Mohanlal combo was lit. Pre interval scene fight with Vintage songs...celebrated madmax."
Bha Bha Ba was the directorial debut of Dhananjay Shankar. Fahim Safar and Noorin Shereef had written the story of Bha Bha Ba, while Gokulam Gopalan and Krishnamoorthy produced it under the banner of Sree Gokulam Movies and Gokulam Productions.
