Add BollywoodShaadis on GoogleIss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? actor, Barun Sobti is an acclaimed actor who rose to fame as a major television heartthrob. With his talent and popularity, he successfully transitioned into an acclaimed actor in the OTT space with critically acclaimed projects like Kohrra. Barun is widely recognised for his natural acting, calm and sophisticated persona and selective approach to acting projects. In his latest appearance on Farah Khan's YouTube vlog, his seemingly tired and weak appearance made his fans worried about his health.
The viewers thought that Barun Sobti was either going through a low phase or lacking proper nutrition. However, despite concerns about his health, the highlight of the vlog was his wife, Pashmeen Manchanda, recounting their love story, from a long-distance relationship to finding a home in each other.
Pashmeen Manchanda told Farah Khan that she and Barun Sobti were high school sweethearts. She said, "We are school buddies" and "have known each other since." Their fateful relationship began when she transferred from an all-girls school to a co-ed institution. The duo stayed in touch from their teenage years into adulthood, and their long-term relationship culminated in marriage in September 2010. Even amid their different career paths and priorities, they still stayed by each other.
Barun Sobti's wife recalled a time when she was in Melbourne, Australia, for her academics. At that time, she was studying and working side by side while he was in Mumbai, chasing his dream of becoming an actor. Pashmeen also recalled call centre working days, hinting that things weren't always so smooth for them. They had to navigate a long-distance relationship while building careers in their fields of interest. It was also at that time that Barun bagged his first show and went on to achieve breakout fame with Baat Hamari Pakki Hai. Throughout that time, Pashmeen remained his support system from miles away. She stated:
"We've also had a long distance relationship. So, I was away. I was in Australia. I'd gone there to study. And I was working and everything. And he had gotten his first show then. So he was in Bombay. I was actually working in a call center in Delhi. He was here. And he had gotten his first show. Then he got Baat Hamari Pakki Hai, which was a show on Sony. It did really well. And it got quite popular."
Pashmeen Manchanda stayed in Melbourne for years while Barun navigated his life as a struggling actor. However, even amid that, the couple made their relationship work, and things reached the level of marriage. Notably, he hadn't even met her family until a month before the wedding. Pashmeen was supposed to return to India right before their wedding; however, she came a month earlier, and Barun seized the opportunity to meet her parents. Her exact words, as heard in Farah Khan's vlog, were:
"I was still there [in Melbourne when he got Baat Hamari Pakki Hai]. And I literally came a month before we were getting married. But I had come in between. And that's when he said, let me meet your parents."
Barun Sobti and Pashmeen Manchanda are currently parents to two kids. Their daughter, Sifat is almost seven, and their son, Meer is almost three, as shared by Pashmeen. The best part of marriage, according to Barun, is that he has his spouse by his side forever; he doesn't have to miss her company as he did during their courtship. At the same time, he accepts that certain adjustments are necessary to keep things running smoothly. He shared that they occasionally fight like any other couple, but the tiff never takes a serious turn. As per him, "There haven't been any lows as such" in their relationship.
