Cinecon Classic Film Festival revealed that Barbara Eden canceled her appearance at the last minute due to a 'sudden illness.'

At present, the 95-year-old actress has left her fans worried about her health after she was forced to cancel her appearance at the Cinecon Classic Film Festival this weekend.
Barbara Eden was scheduled to attend the Cinecon Classic Film Festival in Los Angeles on September 5, 2026. However, to everyone's disappointment, her appearance was canceled shortly before she was scheduled to appear. The event organizers informed Barbara's fans about it via a Facebook post.
They claimed that Barbara was unable to attend the event due to “a sudden illness.” They noted that Barbara was deeply regretful for the last-minute cancellation, as she too was excited about seeing everyone and attending the festival. The post read:
“We’re sorry to share that, due to a sudden illness, Barbara Eden will no longer be able to appear in person at Cinecon tonight. Barbara is deeply regretful that she had to cancel at the last minute, as she had been very much looking forward to seeing everyone and celebrating with us.”
While concluding the message, the festival organizers said that they were aware of how much everyone had been hoping to see Barbara. Wishing the actress a speedy recovery, they wrote:
“We know how many of you were excited to welcome Barbara. We appreciate your understanding and join you in sending her our best wishes for a speedy recovery.”
Soon, fans took to the comments section of the post to show their concern for the actress and showered Barbara with well-wishes. One Facebook user wrote, “Very sorry to hear. Hope she is ok.” Another user wrote, “I hope that Barbara is okay. She keeps a full schedule that would exhaust someone half her age. It is very kind of Pat Boone to step in.” A third user penned, “Oh no. Hope she is resting and not ill.”
The Cinecon Classic Film Festival, which honors nostalgic movies, celebrated its 62nd edition of the event this year. The festival took place from September 3, 2026, to September 7, 2026, at the Landmark Nuart Theatre. This is the festival’s first time at the venue.
For those unaware, Barbara was all set to receive the Cinecon Legacy Award at the event. Apart from her, others who were also being honored at the event included Nancy Kwan, Anna Maria Alberghetti, and Lainie Kazan. Reportedly, Anna, who is 90 years old, was also unable to attend the festival in person.
After being unable to appear at the event, it was Barbara’s All Hands on Deck co-star Pat Boone who accepted the Cinecon Legacy Award on her behalf. After the screening of the 1961 film, Pat even stayed behind and signed some autographs for the fans.
Barbara is widely known for her starring role in I Dream of Jeannie as the show’s title character. The show followed an astronaut who found a bottle that contained a 2,000-year-old genie. Some of Barbara's other well-known TV shows include Harper Valley P.T.A and How to Marry a Millionaire.
Barbara has also appeared in several films including Flaming Star, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, and The Brass Bottle, among others. During an August 2026 interview, Barbara shared that she is open to pursuing more acting roles. She said:
“If it's well-written, I’d probably do anything. If it's well-written.”
