After the blockbuster success of his horror-fantasy film, Sarvam Maya, the actor is currently grabbing attention for his thriller film, Baby Girl. The Malayalam film, which hit the theatres on January 23, 2026, is all set to release on OTT within a few weeks. Malayalam film, Baby Girl is a crime thriller that revolves around one horrific incident of a sudden and unexpected disappearance of a newborn baby from a hospital. The film follows 'Sanal Mathew' (played by Nivin Pauly), who is a nurse at the hospital, from where the newborn baby goes missing. Right after the unexpected incident, 'Sanal' becomes the prime suspect. As the investigation begins, everyone starts doubting 'Sanal'. Every action and every small detail is monitored. Soon the viewers also wonder if 'Sanal' is innocent or is hiding something dark.
Viewers can expect a thrilling crime story, which explores fear, pressure and moral values. The audience will get to witness the spine-chilling experience from multiple point of views. It is worth mentioning that the film stars Nivin Pauly, Lijomol Jose, Aditi Ravi, Jaffer Idukki, Abhimanyu Thilakan, Azeez Nedumangad, Sangeeth Pratap and more. The thriller is directed by Arun Varma. The film is expected to feature a gripping and emotional thriller.
The Malayalam thriller film, Baby Girl, starring Nivin Pauly in lead is all set to premiere on the OTT platform, SonyLIV from February 12, 2026. It is worth mentioning that the thriller hit the theatres just a few weeks ago, on January 13, 2026. However, if reports are to be believed, the reason behind premiere on OTT in such a short period is because of its low box office collection. For those who do not know, Baby Girl earned around Rs. 4.54 crore.
A few days before the release of the film, Baby Girl, the director of the film, Arun Varma had opened up about the thriller and how he found a newborn baby for the shooting of the film. Arun had shared that the film’s line producer had offered to allow the team to shoot with his baby. Arun Varma was quoted as saying:
"We had a tough time finding a newborn for our shoot. The script required a baby only two or three days old. At first, we thought it would be easy, but as the shoot approached, we realised very few parents would allow it. Around that time, we learned that our line producer Akhil Yashodharan's wife was expecting, with the delivery due during the shooting schedule. We couldn't ask Akhil to give his newborn for the film. But he offered it himself, understanding the situation. Even then, we hesitated because the baby would be only two or three days old."
For those who do not know, Nivin Pauly is one of the most loved and celebrated actors. Reportedly, he was born in October 1984, and made his acting debut with Malarvaadi Arts Club. Over the years, Nivin Pauly has worked in films like Neram, 1983, Ohm Shanthi Oshaana, Bangalore Days, Premam, Oru Vadakkan Selfie, Action Hero Biju and more. Recently, he dominated the headlines for his horror fantasy film, Sarvam Maya.
