#1. Not inviting all your friends to your wedding

Hey, you do not need to feel bad about not inviting all your friends on the most important day of your life. We know that it will be difficult for them to digest that they are not invited, especially when you were such good friends once, but that is not what you should focus on.

How to deal with it: First and foremost, assess your relationship with them. You will notice that once you do this exercise, you will in no time filter out the ones who are probably not so close to you. Some may carry the grudge in their hearts, but that will cool off in no time. Trust us on that.

#2. A fall-out with your in-laws

This should by far be one of the trickiest situations you might find yourself in. The fall-out may happen if they are intrusive on your selection of the wedding venue, which may not match up to their taste, or your wedding outfit, which they want to have a final say in, or for that matter alcohol being served at the venue when you already know that it is going to be a big NO from your parents.

How to deal with it: Breathe in. Breathe out. Repeat. Do not sulk over it. Be open to discussions and consider including them when you go out to see the venue. Be open about the budget and let them know your limitations whatsoever. This will help them understand where you are coming from and you will see that they will recede a couple of steps. As far as your wedding outfit is concerned, it is your day, so make them realise that you are not going to make a clown of yourself and that they should trust your decision.

#3. Telling your guests (at least your close ones) that you prefer cash as wedding gift

In India, couples are now increasingly open about discussing what they need as gifts from their friends and family. After all, it helps them do away with accommodating those recycled gifts that circulate from one family to another!

How to deal with it: Speak to your parents and express why you will need the money rather than those gifts. Tell them you will need it for financial investment or down payment of a new house or a car you plan to buy, or whatever other plans you may have. As far as your friends are concerned, just let them know it is CASH you prefer. No questions asked because they understand!

#4.  Saying NO to friends of friends of friends or those twice removed relatives of your cousins!

Only you know how much your wedding budget is and how important it is to not invite those ridiculous wedding party crashers that tag along with your friends or relatives.

How to deal with it: Be honest with your folks and tell them that you are strictly following your wedding guest list and would not welcome +1s or + 2s on your special day. Perhaps tell them how you would love to bond with them over a couple of drinks after you are back from your honeymoon. Easy.

#5. Going overbudget

Some situations, especially the financial ones, are tricky to handle. If you are making some payments on behalf of your friends it gets all the more weird, but you have got to be clear on re-payment from the word go. Tell them how it is an extra expenditure in your scheme of things and that it should be cleared out in time. No money hassles between friendships, ok?

How to deal with it: Apps like ‘Settle Up’ is really good and keeps everyone on that page informed about who owes whom and how much. This will keep you from feeling embarrassed by reminding them about the overdue payment!

#6. Wedding Planner’s become a pain in the ass

If you have hired a wedding planner, it is important that you are both on the same page and share the vision besides sticking to it. However, tables may turn and you may suddenly feel the heat and not agree with his or her plan. You may feel they are being too bossy and not being a good listener. But, don’t you worry because you can find a way out of it too.

How to deal with it: Identify the problem area. Are you panicking? Are they not available despite their claims? Are they acting pricey? Was their payment made in time? Figure out answers for these and address the situation. It is possible that a simple miscommunication is leading up to this. Discuss your differences over a cup of coffee and have it sorted once and for all.
