Ashlee Jenae was travelling to Tanzania with her fiancé, Joe McCann, who proposed marriage to her on April 5, 2026, on her 31st birthday. However, what was supposed to be a new phase of her life turned out to be a nightmare for her close ones. Joe McCann reportedly claimed that Ashlee had hung herself, as she was reportedly found dead in her hotel room.

In a statement, Ashlee's family revealed that she and her fiancé, Joe McCann, were in Zanzibar, Africa, to celebrate her birthday, where she also got engaged. As per the family, this trip was supposed to be Ashlee's dream trip. The family further confirmed that Ashlee was found in an unconscious state in Zuri Zanzibar, where she and her fiancé were staying.
Following this, she was taken to a local hospital and was confirmed dead. While the family didn't mention anything suspicious about Joe McCann as of now, they have addressed that the situation leading to Ashlee's death didn't feel real to the family members.
