Asha left behind an extraordinary legacy, which her son, Akkash Bharadwaj, recalled after her death. He announced her death by sharing an official statement on behalf of the bereaved family. Asha Singh Jaiswal was widely celebrated as India's first female mimicry artist and had a decades-long career in Indian television and movies. She was reportedly deeply connected and actively involved with her acting work until the final days of her life. Asha Singh Jaiswal kept her personal life largely private. She focused her public persona on her work and didn't even speak about her family in interviews or public appearances.

Nothing related to Asha's husband is publicly known. Asha's better half largely stayed out of the public eye and avoided the intense online scrutiny that comes from being a family member of an actor. Not just the mystery man, Asha's son, Akkash Bharadwaj, also lives a low-key life and stays focused on his career. His social media accounts offer a glimpse into his professional ventures. He has imbibed the art of mimicry from his now-deceased mother, Asha Singh Jaiswal.

Akkash Bharadwaj describes himself as an "actor, singer, music composer, writer, radio voice-over/dubbing mimic artist, complete entertainer/live performer-compere, mimic, singer/dancer, choreographer." He often shares pictures from his shows on Instagram, and according to his posts, he performed on stage for the first time at the tender age of 3, to Rishi Kapoor's iconic song Bachna Ae Haseeno. Besides Asha Singh Jaiswal's son, Akkash, nothing is known about her other family members.

Asha Singh Jaiswal's son, Akkash Bharadwaj shared a statement on his Instagram account announcing the tragic news of his mother's passing. Asha died due to a lung infection, which she had been battling for approximately three months. The veteran actress and mimicry artist breathed her last at the age of 83 on August 22, 2026, at around 7:30 p.m. in Mumbai. Akkash Bharadwaj shared that her last rites were performed at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Vile Parle.

Asha's son recalled her as a character actor and India's first female mimicry artist, who lent her voice to iconic star Meenakumari's on-screen characters. Asha was famous for perfectly recreating the legendary actress' voice. Asha's notable roles include the character of 'Kripi' ('Dronacharya's' wife) in B.R. Chopra's iconic television series Mahabharat. Beyond her acting and social work, she was an entrepreneur who founded and operated Aasha Events and Films.

Akkash referred to his late mother as an "iron lady" and requested that everyone revisit her film and television work. He also shared the links to several of Asha Singh Jaiswal's projects and asked everyone to remember her contribution to the Indian entertainment industry. He further stated that, for Asha, her work was everything, and she has lived a good life. Akkash hopes his mom receives "moksha" (salvation) after her death. He wrote:

"Weh ek karmath loh-mahila (iron lady) thi. aap sabhi unki aatma ki sadgati evam shanti ke liye prarthna karen. Aur unke kaam ko social media par zarur dekhen aur yaad rakhen taaki unki aatma jahan bhi hon prasanchitt ho ki aap unka kaam ab bhi dekh aur yaad kar rahen hain. Kyunki unke jeevan me unka karm hee sabkuch tha jo unhe unki mrityu ke baad bramhaanand me moksh pradan karen issi aasha ke saath yeh sandesh main prasarit kar raha hun...Mrityu ka dukh nahin aanand bramhaanand yehi unka sandesh."
