Archana Puran Singh Opens Up About Miscarriage And Struggles During Pregnancy, 'Felt Abandoned...'

Archana Puran Singh, the TV personality and actress, is widely known for her role as a judge on the shows, The Kapil Sharma Show and Comedy Circus. Besides being a judge, Archana is a well-known YouTube vlogger. She began her YouTube journey as a vlogger in December 2024 and now has 1.05 million subscribers. Coming to her personal front, she is married to Parmeet Sethi and has two sons, Aaryamann Sethi and Ayushmaan Sethi. In a recent conversation, Archana opened up about an unheard facet of her life.

Archana Puran Singh opens up about her miscarriage

Archana Puran Singh and her husband, Parmeet Sethi, recently appeared on a podcast and had a heartfelt conversation. During the chat, Archana recalled a tough time when she had a miscarriage. She shared that there was a time when she didn’t want kids. But after four years of marriage, she conceived. However, she couldn’t carry the pregnancy and had a miscarriage. She was quoted as saying:

"Kids were something I absolutely did not want. But then, in the first four years of our marriage, towards the end of those four years, I conceived. Unfortunately, I couldn't carry the pregnancy through. At that time, I was working on a film, and it wasn't even about urgency; the film had its own timeline. I then had a miscarriage."

Archana Puran Singh recalls getting pregnant at the time of her father's demise

During the same conversation, Archana’s husband, Parmeet, shared that it was in the '90s to mid '90s, when her father passed away. It was the same time when they found that Archana was pregnant. He said, "It was the '90s-mid-'90s. I remember it very clearly, vividly. When we found out that you were pregnant, your father had just passed away. I was in Dubai at the time. You had gone to Bangkok for a show." Recalling the time, Archana revealed that she learnt about the sad news of her father’s demise from her manager. She added that she didn’t know about her pregnancy at the time. She was quoted as saying:

"We got the call there. I was standing at the hotel reception. There were no mobile phones back then. My manager told me that your father had expired. I immediately left without doing the show. I travelled from Bangkok to Calcutta, then Calcutta to Delhi, and from Delhi to Dehradun by road. By the time I reached, your father had already been cremated. During those 13 days of mourning, when there is so much grief, I remember being shocked at myself. I kept thinking, my father has passed away, and yet I feel like eating something. At that time, I didn't know I was pregnant."

Archana Puran Singh shares that she felt abandoned during her pregnancy

During the same conversation, Archana Puran Singh shared a heartfelt message to her two sons. She explained how a woman needs her husband during the nine months of pregnancy. Archana mentioned that she wants her two sons to take care of their wives at the time of their pregnancy, as she didn't get the support during her pregnancy. She recalled feeling abandoned by her husband, Parmeet, during her pregnancy. She was quoted as saying: 

"I felt abandoned by Parmeet during my pregnancy. I want to tell my sons what I felt when I didn't get support during my pregnancy. I'll tell them to do everything. You have to be with your wife, not just for those nine months. During those nine months, it's only your wife in front of you; your baby isn't there yet. At that time, your wife needs you. And I felt, as a partner, somewhere I felt abandoned."

Hearing this, Parmeet admitted that he didn’t support her during her pregnancy. He shared that he didn't know what to do or what not to do. He recalled how Archana lay on the bed and struggled during that phase.

Further in the conversation, Parmeet opened up about his wife, Archana’s struggles during her pregnancy. He shared that during the first three or four months, she felt nauseous. He added that she was sick for eight months. She was allergic to any kind of smell during that phase.
