Anupam Kher posts throwback pictures with Kirron Kher on their 36th wedding anniversary. His heartmelting note is all about love and togetherness.
An epitome of couple goals, Anupam Kher and Kirron Kher perfectly define the meaning of true love. It is their friendship, that acted as a strong foundation in their marriage. Anupam and Kirron were good friends as they were part of the Chandigarh Theatre Group. They shared a great bond and knew everything about each other.
When Kirron came to Bombay, she had married businessman, Gautam Berry, Anupam too got married. But both of them realised that their respective marriages were not working. It was during one of the plays they did together when Anupam confessed his feelings to Kirron. The two had unknowingly fallen in love and had tied the knot on August 26, 1985.

On August 26, 2021, Anupam and Kirron completed 36 years of marital bliss. To mark the special day, Anupam took to his IG handle and shared throwback pictures with Kirron and wrote, "Happy 36th wedding anniversary dearest #Kirron. It has been a long journey with all the possible emotions of laughter, tears, arguments, sharing, friendship, love and togetherness! But a journey worth it. These black and white pics have all the shades of colour in them. Stay safe and healthy. Love and prayers always!"
Kirron's son from her previous marriage, Sikander Kher, too penned an adorable wish for the lovely couple. Sharing a goofy monochrome picture of Anupam and Kirron Kher, Sikander wrote, "Happy anniversary to these two people... I think I’ve seen them somewhere... to many more."
When Anupam Kher had proposed Kirron Kher, he had nothing. Kirron proved to be his lucky charm as, after two years of meeting her, Anupam got his first break. In an interview with Firstpost, Kirron Kher had recalled her proposal moment and had stated, “He came and knocked on my door, and said, "I want to talk to you." He then said, "I think I have fallen in love with you." And suddenly there was this immense, intense change, the chemistry exploded. I got a divorce and married him. He had nothing then.”

Kirron had also recalled Anupam's flirty image in college and had shared, “We used to call Anupam the group’s opening batsman in college since he had several girlfriends and was very flirty. Sabko hasaa hasaa kar phasaa deta tha... mujhe bhi waise hi phasaya...we became friends first and before I knew it, I fell in love with my best friend.”
In 2014, Kirron had joined politics with the Bharatiya Janata Party but did not quit the showbiz. It was in April 2021, when Anupam had revealed the news of Kirron being diagnosed with multiple myeloma and undergoing treatment in Mumbai.
