Amy Duggar King recently posted an emotional video where she can be seen in tears after the arrest of her cousin, Joseph Duggar's wife, Kendra Duggar.
As if it wasn't shocking enough that the 19 Kids and Counting fame, Joseph Duggar, was arrested for allegedly committing a crime involving a minor, recently, his wife, Kendra Duggar, was also taken into custody by Arkansas police and is facing multiple charges. According to reports, Kendra's arrest happened on Friday, March 20, 2026, just a few days after Joseph was taken into custody on March 18, 2026. Now, amid the news of Kendra's arrest, Amy Duggar King's reaction has been gaining the limelight.
On March 20, 2026, the same day that Kendra Duggar got arrested and taken into custody in Washington County, Arkansas, Amy Duggar King shared an emotional video on her Instagram Stories. For those unaware, Amy is Joseph Duggar's cousin and was also featured on TLC's 19 Kids and Counting. In the video, Amy, visibly distressed and in tears, says she doesn't know "what's going on.” Apparently, she heard on their local news that someone had been arrested in the case and that “there's stuff going on” she just doesn't know about. Interestingly, Amy said that she thinks everyone should know that there's “more to the story”, although she still doesn't know what that is.
Joseph Duggar's arrest was not only a shock for the 19 Kids and Counting fanbase but also for members of the Duggar family. This included his cousin, Amy, who issued a statement saying that she was “utterly shocked to hear about these allegations and Joseph's arrest.” However, despite being shocked, she was “not surprised that another predator has emerged from this toxic system.” She said:
"For years, I have spoken out about the importance of truth, accountability and protecting children, even when it meant going against my own family. Family ties should never equal automatic trust or access, especially when it comes to the safety of children. When an image is protected over truth, and silence is chosen over accountability, it creates an environment where abuse can thrive."
To conclude her statement at the time, Amy said that she was praying for the victim and her family as they face this difficult time and “walk through what is sure to be an incredibly difficult road ahead.” She also prayed that “justice will be served to the fullest.” At the same time, Amy did not forget to mention Kendra, saying that since they do not know the full picture yet, she is also praying for her and her children.
According to Arkansas authorities, Joseph Duggar's wife, Kendra Duggar, is facing four counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and four counts of false imprisonment. Kendra was booked on these charges in the second degree by the Tontitown Police Department in Arkansas. The authorities told People, “this remains an active investigation.” While Kendra has since been released on a USD 1,470 bond, according to People, her hearing is scheduled for March 23, 2026. Reportedly, she will be due in court again on April 29, 2026.
Kendra's arrest came only two days after her husband, Joseph, was arrested for lewd and lascivious conduct, including a minor less than 12 years old, by a person 18 years of age or older. The charges were filed in Florida; however, since then, People has reported that Joseph is facing further charges in Arkansas alongside his wife. These charges, according to the authorities, include four counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor and four counts of second-degree false imprisonment.
