Amitabh Bachchan has opened up about Kolkata Knight Riders winning the IPL 2024 trophy and penned a note for SRH owner, Kavya Maran.
Bollywood superstar, Amitabh Bachchan is well known for his love for cricket. He was supporting Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024 and was also seen attending a couple of MI matches in the stadium. However, MI's early exit from IPL 2024 left the superstar heartbroken. Now, Amitabh took to his blog and admitted that he was heartbroken that Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) lost the trophy to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
Amitabh Bachchan penned a blog on May 26, 2024, and praised Kolkata Knight Riders for being one of the best teams in this year's IPL. He also mentioned that KKR had won the most convincing victory, but added that SRH was simply outplayed. Addressing the moment, Amitabh wrote on his blog:
“The IPL Final is over and KKR have WON a most convincing victory .. SRH were simply outplayed .. disappointing in many ways because SRH is a good team and one has seen their very grand performances over the days when they played other matches.”

Further in his note, Amitabh Bachchan penned his amazement upon seeing the owner of SRH, Kavya Maran, getting teary-eyed as her team failed to lift the IPL 2024 trophy. The superstar mentioned that he felt bad for the pretty young lady and also penned a powerful note for her. Big B wrote:
“But what was most touching to observe was the pretty young lady, .. the owner of SRH, in the Stadium, get emotional after the loss and break into tears, turning her face away from the cameras, so as not to display her emotion.. I felt bad for her !! Never mind .. tomorrow is another day .. my dear !!”
Despite Sunrisers Hyderabad losing the IPL 2024 trophy to Kolkata Knight Riders, Kavya Maran kept her sportsman spirit up and cheered for her own team. On May 26, 2024, a video of Kavya surfaced online, wherein she was seen getting teary-eyed after her team's loss. She turned her back towards the camera and initially left the stands. However, later she mustered her courage and came back to appreciate her team's players. Soon after the glimpses surfaced on social media, many netizens flooded the posts' comment section to praise Kavya Maran for her support for the SRH players.

For the unversed, KKR beat SRH by eight wickets, as the latter didn’t have enough runs on the board. The team scored 113 runs in less than 20 overs and lost all their wickets to KKR’s bowlers. The score marked SRH's third-lowest total in the IPL and the lowest total in an IPL Final. KKR was able to achieve the target of 114 runs seamlessly, losing just two wickets. This led to KKR swiftly lifting the IPL 2024 cup with 10 overs to spare.
