Amber Eggers has passed away at the age of 41. The tragic news has come as a shock to many. For the unversed, Amber rose to prominence with her appearance on Love After Lockup in 2019. Amid her passing, take a look at the cause of her death.

Amber Eggers dies at the age of 41

Amber Eggers became a well-known face among viewers with her appearance on Love After Lockup. She appeared on the show in 2019 and was dating Vincent Gonzalez while she was still behind bars. They even got engaged during that time, but the relationship fizzled after her release. There has been no new information about her personal life since then.

Amber Eggers' death buzz first gained speed on September 3, 2026, when some Instagram posts started alleging that the Love After Lockup star had passed away. However, it was on September 4, 2026, that her mother, Monica Eggers, confirmed her death.

What happened to Amber Eggers?

According to TMZ, Amber Eggers passed away on September 3, 2026 (ET), after being hospitalized for a while. Her mom, Monica Eggers, told the news outlet that Amber died on Thursday night at a hospital in Atlanta. She was reportedly admitted to the hospital days before her death as she wasn't feeling well. For the unversed, the news comes several months after reports first surfaced that Monica had been hospitalized in critical condition back in May.

In a conversation with the news outlet, Monica Eggers revealed that the doctors couldn't keep her daughter, Amber Eggers' heart beating any longer. She further reflected on the cause of her death and revealed that Amber ultimately died from acute liver failure. Amber and her former cellmate Michelle "Puppy" Deaton also made cameos on other Love After Lockup seasons, as well as the spin-off series, Life After Lockup, which eventually followed Amber and Michelle’s own relationship after both were out of prison.

Amber Eggers has a following of 91K on Instagram and often shares her life experiences and related content with her followers. Her last post was dated July 29, 2026 (ET). It was a picture of her outside what looked like a Pinches Tr-Ko's Shack, a pet-friendly Mexican restaurant. She captioned the post, "Thanks for all bday love!"

Her followers soon noticed how she was wearing a hospital gown in the picture. For the unversed, in 2025, Amber Eggers had allegedly suffered from pneumonia, which turned into sepsis and multi-organ failure. She was put on life support shortly. However, while she recovered, things didn't get better as Amber suffered a mini-stroke. According to one Instagram account:

"She had already survived so much. In the spring of 2025, pneumonia turned into sepsis and multiple organ failure, and she ended up on life support. She came back from that. She got to go home. More recently, she suffered a mini-stroke and was home recovering. She has kept fighting through all of it, but this time her body lost the fight."
