Add BollywoodShaadis on GoogleAlpha, Yash Raj Films' latest addition to the Spy Universe, has hit the silver screen on July 3, 2026. After multiple postponements and other troubles, it is finally out, and fans can't wait to experience the first-ever female-led YRF Spy Universe offering. The main cast includes Alia Bhatt, Sharvari Wagh, Bobby Deol, and Anil Kapoor, and is directed by Shiv Rawail. Amid the buzz around the movie and its special cameo by a YRF veteran, speculation about a feud between cast members, Alia Bhatt and Bobby Deol, emerged. He broke silence on the same, giving a befitting reply.
Rumours of a feud between Alpha's step-father-step-daughter duo, Alia Bhatt and Bobby Deol started after anonymous media reports claimed that they had a major fallout on the sets of their YRF Spy Universe film, Alpha. The reports alleged that the actors had some creative differences and ego clashes. Alia reportedly frequently gave creative suggestions to director, Shiv Rawail during shoots. The 57-year-old Bobby allegedly objected to Alia providing input for scenes that included him, leading to friction between them.
The tension between Alia and Bobby reportedly made others on the set uncomfortable, and it became so severe that producer, Aditya Chopra had to personally step in to mediate and ensure filming could proceed smoothly. After days of intense online discussion, with fans weighing in on whether to side with the veteran star or the 33-year-old actress, Bobby himself clarified the viral rumours. In an interview with Times Now, he promptly refuted the allegations of a cold war with Alia Bhatt.
Bobby Deol mentioned being aware of reports of the feud and called them unfounded. He stated that there were "no issues" between him and Alia and slammed the media outlets for reporting on celebrities without proper research. Notably, he came across the reports after a friend sent him a screenshot of the same. Bobby was even sceptical about responding to the rift rumours, thinking that someone would take his words out of context and make a false report about it. However, he shut down the chatter for good and even said he holds Alia in high esteem. He stated:
"Several reports came about Alia Bhatt and me having some issues. But there were no issues. People just write whatever they want to write. If you speak about it, they will get offended by it. I don't want to react if someone is writing about it. I was also told by somebody about something, and I reacted to it."
Alpha is centred on the protagonist, 'Sita' (played by Alia Bhatt), who is raised from childhood as an assassin by her father figure, 'Baba' (Bobby Deol). He trains her as part of the Alpha group, a highly classified, illicit soldier program designed to produce India's fastest and strongest tactical assets. On 'Sita's' 18th birthday, during her dinner celebration, 'Baba' hands her a lethal gift: her first official assassination mission. Her opening fight sequence with her opponents has emerged as a major talking point of the movie.
During the mission, 'Sita' comes across another formidable agent (Sharvari Wagh), who gradually becomes her partner in crime. The actresses received praise for their thrilling performance; however, the movie's plot leaves the audience largely divided. Some lauded the effort while others complained about its pacing. The film, however, regains the audience's interest when the YRF Spy Universe veteran, 'Kabir' (Hrithik Roshan) from War 2 makes a whistle-worthy cameo.
