Alia Bhatt raised many eyebrows with her recent cryptic post on social media after the actress was slammed over her citizenship.
Alia Bhatt is the daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and his wife, Soni Razdan. Known as a prominent Bollywood actress, Alia is of British origin. While many Bollywood celebrities, including Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, and Ranveer Singh, stepped out to cast their vote in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, Alia didn't turn up. Following this, the actress was brutally slammed on social media.
Amid all the debate about her citizenship, Alia Bhatt took to her IG handle and shared a cryptic post. However, it wasn't confirmed if the viral post has anything to do with the ongoing slamming that she has been receiving. Alia's note, which she accompanied the post with the ‘The Good Word’ hashtag, can be read as:
“Love. There’s no argument, no matter how strong, that can overcome that word.”

Earlier, we stumbled upon a clip of Alia Bhatt with her Heart Of Stone, co-star, Gal Gadot, wherein the actress confirmed that she is a British citizen. In the clip, Gal Gadot asked Alia Bhatt if she is British, and the latter confirmed it with a big 'yes'. She revealed that her mother, Soni Razdan, was born in Birmingham, England, adding that she was born and brought up in India. When Gal Gadot asked Alia does her mother spoke British English with her, the actress said:
"No, my grand mother lived in England for her whole life, so she has British accent."
Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt has been making headlines for her appearance at the Met Gala 2024. Alia opted for a custom-made mint green-hued Sabyasachi saree featuring 3D floral embellishments and a 23-foot-long train. The actress' couture saree was hand-embroidered with silk floss, beads, sequins, and semi-precious stones, and fringed with glass beads. Alia paired her surreal drape with a hand-crafted blouse beautifully adorned with emeralds, Basra pearls, tourmalines, and multi-coloured sapphires. To accentuate her look, the actress added a whimsical bun and adorned it with a statement matha patti. She also wore emerald and sapphire-studded earrings and looked as elegant as ever.

Alia Bhatt is a complete family woman, and proof of the same is often found on her social media handle. Recently, the actress had a special Mother's Day celebration with her family at her cosy home and dropped a photo from the white-themed bash on her IG handle. In the photo, while Alia's mom, Soni Razdan, was seen hugging her and her sister, Shaheen Bhatt, her husband, Ranbir Kapoor sat close to his mom, Neetu Kapoor. However, her daughter, Raha was missing from the celebration. Sharing the photo, Alia penned:
“Precious moments with my precious ones. #happymothersday.”
