The 62-year-old American actress, Alexandra Paul, got arrested after a protest against a dog-breeding facility in Wisconsin. It was a dramatic rescue as the group of protesters entered the area and took hold of the beagles who were being bred. For the unversed, it was on March 15, 2026, when Alexandra Paul took part in the famous rescue at Ridglan Farms in Blue Mounds, Wisconsin. It is a facility known for breeding beagles and using them in biomedical research inhumanely. After this whole dramatic rescue mission, investigators revealed how dozens of activists trespassed the property, which led to multiple arrests. The officials from the Dane County Sheriff's office claimed that there were over 50 to 60 protestors outside Riglan Farms, and they ended the property in the morning without permission.
They tried to take away beagles as part of animal-right campaign. The heart-melting videos, which circulated on the internet, showed how activists carried dogs to save them. They are even protesting to close down the farms which breed dogs for scientific and medical research, calling it inhuman and animal cruelty.
As per the authorities, around 20 people have been taken into custody, including Alexandra. The authorities even got hold of two vehicles and several tools that had been used to enter the facility illegally. However, some beagles were recovered and returned to the facility, while the whereabouts of many dogs remain unknown.
Alexandra was taken into custody for breaking the law and trespassing on the facility. They claimed that sharp objects were used to cut the fences and enter the farm. While the authorities understand the emotional aspect of these facilities using dogs as part of research, the laws remain the same for all. For the unversed, Ridglan Farms are under animal rights activists' radar for breeding dogs for research. However, as per the reports, the facility has agreed to stop selling dogs for biomedical research and is planning to shut down their operations by July 1, 2026.
