'Blue Bloods' actor and comedian, Alex Duong has passed away on March 28, 2026, after a long health battle. Amid this, his last post on Instagram has surfaced.
In a tragic piece of news, it has been revealed that comedian and actor, Alex Duong has passed away. He was only 42 years old when he breathed his last on Saturday, March 28, 2026. According to reports, he died at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica after going into septic shock the night before. His passing has sent shockwaves throughout the comedy and television industry. For the unversed, Alex is survived by his wife, Christina Duong and his daughter, Everest. Now, amid the unfortunate news of his passing, Alex's last post on Instagram has surfaced.
Alex Duong had a public profile on Instagram with more than 5k followers. As of March 2026, the account has 291 posts. However, it is his last post on his handle which has surfaced after his tragic death at 42. A quick look at the late Blue Bloods actor's profile shows a joint post made by Alex and Little Saigon Official on January 29, 2026. It is a reel in which we can see a man talking about how he just found out about the condition of Alex, about how, after battling with his health for quite some time, Alex recently had a seizure.
And on top of it, Alex also has "something in his spine", although the man confessed that he didn't know the complete details of it. He goes on to say that there are a lot of people like Alex who are going through some kind of ailment, and while they can't help everybody, he urged the viewers that if they had the means to help Alex, then they should do it, as it can make a huge difference. The caption of the post read:

Prior to this Reel, Alex had also posted a carousel on December 13, 2025, in collaboration with his wife, Christina Duong. The post features the duo's daughter, Everest. In the first picture, Everest is seen smiling happily while holding a bouquet of flowers. In the next two pictures in the carousel, she can be seen posing alongside her friends. The last slide of the post features a short clip of Everest performing on stage with other children from her school. The caption of the post read, “Everest’s first show at school.”
If reports are believed to be true, Alex Duong was suffering from alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare form of soft tissue cancer. While his health struggles had been continuing for over a year, as per TMZ, to make matters worse, Alex went into septic shock on March 27, 2026. Alex died the following morning, on March 28, 2026, at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, surrounded by his loved ones.
For the unversed, Alex had been first diagnosed with the rare disease in early 2025. Apparently, prior to his diagnosis, the late comedian had been experiencing severe headaches behind his eye. This ultimately led to vision loss and intense treatment in the form of chemotherapy, radiation, and more.
Alex Duong was a renowned American stand-up comedian and actor. He was best known for his work in the Los Angeles scene in addition to his role as ‘Sonny’ on Blue Bloods. He was regularly seen performing at The Comedy Store. According to his IMDb profile, some of his other acting credits include Dexter, The Young and the Restless, and 90210.
