Interestingly, being at USC brought me even closer to Indian films. A year after graduating, I got the opportunity to work as a director’s assistant on his next film, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. I remember pitching the basic idea of Mr. and Mrs. Mahi to Karan Sir (Karan Johar), and he really liked it. That’s how the journey of Mr. and Mrs. Mahi began, and I was thrilled to finally get the opportunity to tell a story set against the world of cricket."
Akansha Ranjan Kapoor and Sharan Sharma met through a mutual friend. Sharing a rare glimpse into their low-key love story, Akansha shared with Vogue that Sharan tried to act cooler than he was. Eventually they fell in love. It was Sharan who proposed to Akansha during a trip to Alibaug, and she thought it was a birthday bash. The night Sharan proposed to Akansha, she had an allergy attack. Recalling the moment, Akansha said:
"It's my absolute favourite story to tell! Besides, Sharan keeps trying to make himself sound cooler than he was. He showed me Sharan’s Instagram profile and said, 'He thinks you're really cute. He really likes you.' I was like, 'That director dude? I’ve heard of him.' Then I followed him back. I wanted it to be a big bash, but Sharan was not being very nice about me inviting my friends. He wanted to keep it very small. I'm under the blanket, sneezing. I looked up and said, ‘Trust you to do this when I'm having an allergy attack."
Congratulations to the couple, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor and Sharan Sharma.
