Abhishek Malhan and Jiya Shankar's engagement buzz resurfaced on the internet, but the former slammed the reports.
Abhishek Malhan, famously known as 'Fukra Insaan' rose to nationwide fame with his stint on the reality show, Bigg Boss OTT season 2. However, his name was linked with one of the co-contestants, Jiya Shankar. The buzz was so strong that people assumed that they were considering a relationship, but their friendship ended. Recently, reports claimed that the two are going to get engaged, but Abhishek Malhan dismissed all such claims.
After days of engagement buzz with Jiya Shankar, Abhishek Malhan took to his Instagram stories on January 1, 2025, and penned a long post. In his note, he clarified that his name should not be linked with anyone. He added that he was part of the show three years ago and that chapter ended there. Abhishek clarified that his choices and stance were clear, and they remain the same. He wrote:
"I want to make one thing very clear, please stop linking my name with anyone. I was part of the show three years ago, and that chapter ended there. My choices and stance were made very clear back then and nothing has changed since."
Abhishek further mentioned that it is disappointing that the same buzz keeps popping up every year. He added that people who know him would also agree with what he was saying, and he doesn't want to be part of such link-up games.
Abhishek Malhan and Jiya Shankar grew close inside Bigg Boss OTT 2 house, which was well known. People outside even linked the two, and many thought they might start dating. They even did a song together, which further sparked their relationship buzz. However, in 2024, they ended their association and clarified that they had never been more than just friends. But almost a year later, the rumours surrounding their relationship resurfaced.
As per a report by Telly Khazana, it was revealed that Abhishek and Jiya have made their relationship public and reports claim that they are planning to get engaged soon. The post can be read as:
"It’s official! Fukra Insaan and Jiya Shankar have made their relationship public, and reports say an engagement could be on the way. Wishing this cute couple love and happiness always (sic)."
It is worth adding that they do not follow each other on social media. However, in 2024, Jiya Shankar had penned a long note dismissing the buzz surrounding her relationship with Abhishek. She clarified that they share only friendship and it has also ended. She added that she doesn't follow any of these meme pages or have any knowledge of how this works. She said:
“Saying this for ONE LAST TIME to whoever it concerns! I’ve got nothing to do with Fukra Insaan or these meme pages. We shared nothing but friendship, & even that no longer exists. I don’t even follow any of these meme pages or have any knowledge of how this works. I always assumed them making this sort of stuff for views, or I’ve no idea if someone pays for this s***, but if the blame comes on me with nasty comments on my character & family, then hear it, panda gang, I’M SELF MADE, LOUD & PROUD! I’m because of ME and not because of anyone else. Way above these CHEAP STUNTS! So stay in your lane & keep my mother’s & my name out of your filthy mouths."
