In a recent interview with Today’s Golfer, Gaurika Rai lauded her husband, Aaron Rai’s performance at the PGA Championships. She shared that her husband is one of the hardest-working golfers out there. Gaurika highlighted that whether Aaron wins or loses a tournament, he always stays down-to-earth. She added that for her husband, Aaron, the game is much more important than a trophy. She was quoted as saying:
"He’s one of the hardest working guys out there and the way he conducts himself doesn’t change. Whether he wins or he misses the cut, he’s still going to go out and do exactly the same thing. For him, the game is bigger than any trophy. We always believe that he has the game and more than that, that he has the work ethic of a champion."
In the same interview, Gaurika mentioned that the way her husband, Aaron, carried himself during the tournament was praiseworthy. She shared that although the first 8 holes were not going well for Aaron, he stayed calm and composed. She highlighted that seeing the professional golfer dealing with a high-intensity situation made her sure that he could do it again. Gaurika revealed that she knew that her husband would win the PGA Championship and lift the trophy. She was quoted as saying:
"The way he was carrying himself and the way he was so calm and composed after the first 8 holes when things were exactly not really tipping towards his way, that was enough to win for me. Even if we hadn’t lifted the trophy today, I knew that he was ready to lift it very soon. That, for me, was a very important step towards him cracking what it takes to win a major. As a golfer myself, seeing the four majors and everything that it means for people, I appreciate it."
During the press conference after winning the PGA Championship, Aaron got emotional. He dedicated his magical win to his wife, Gaurika Bishnoi. Aaron mentioned that Gaurika is not just his wife, but also his best friend and his biggest supporter. He highlighted that, as Gaurika herself is a golfer, her advice was very valuable to him. He added that their 30-minute conversation just before the game stayed with him and helped him win the tournament. He was quoted as saying:
"Both as a companion, as a friend, as someone I’m sharing my life with, but also as a real support system for my game. She’s a professional golfer herself so her mindset, her advice, her thoughts, whether it’s technique or the way I’m holding myself is absolutely invaluable.We even had a conversation yesterday for 30 minutes in the car just before we got back to the hotel, just speaking a little bit about today. Some of the things that she mentioned in the conversations were really with me today."
