Wedding bells are ringing for Aamir Khan and longtime partner Gauri Spratt. After confirming that the couple will tie the knot on July 5 in an intimate ceremony at his Bandra residence, fans have been equally curious about another aspect of the celebration: whether his former wives, Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao, will be part of the big day.

In an industry often plagued by messy breakups and tabloid drama, Aamir Khan’s approach to marriages, relationships, and divorce definitely stands out, given his beautiful bond with both his ex-wives. Given Aamir's unusually close relationship with Reena and Kiran, the answer appears to be yes.

Aamir Khan's bond with his ex-wives

Aamir has repeatedly described them as family, making their presence at the wedding unsurprising. In a previous interview, Aamir reflected on his relationships with Reena and Kiran, insisting that although the marriages ended, the affection and respect between them never disappeared.

"I've been fortunate that the two women in my life, Reena and Kiran, have both been remarkable. Though we're no longer married, the love and respect have never faded."

He also revealed that neither divorce involved courtroom battles or bitter legal disputes. The superstar has spoken about how though their marriage was over on paper, his relationship with both the wives was still rooted in love, trust, and respect. In an interview with Filmfare in 2025, Aamir spoke about his divorces and said that  he and his ex-wives didn’t even hire separate lawyers. Aamir described both Reena and Kiran as ‘remarkable’ women who continue to be integral parts of his life. He shared:

“I’ve been fortunate that the two women in my life, Reena and Kiran, have both been remarkable. Though we’re no longer married, the love and respect have never faded. That’s what’s kept us close even after parting ways. There was no bitterness with either… During both divorces, we didn’t even hire separate lawyers. Just one lawyer, one conversation. That was it. These weren’t battles, just two people parting as partners, not adversaries.”

Aamir has often spoken about how his relationship with both former wives simply evolved rather than ended. He married Reena Dutta in 1996, when Aamir was 21. Over the years, the couple became parents to two children, Junaid and Ira Khan. After 16 years of marital bliss, they parted ways in 2002. He married Kiran Rao in 2005. His second marriage also lasted for about 17 years, and they have an amicable co-parenting dynamic raising their son, Azad. Aamir stressed that despite the separations, their familial bond remains intact.

Speaking about his ex-wives and how they remained respectful after the divorce, Aamir reflected on their rare and beautiful dynamics. Despite the separation, Reena and Kiran only came closer and became a family that the Dangal star can depend on in times of crisis, and vice versa. Speaking about their bond, Aamir explained that they continue to stand by one another during life's biggest moments. In his words:

"Reena is gracious, Kiran is gracious, and I’ve tried to be the same… If I’m in a crisis, they’d be the first to stand by me, and I’d do the same for them, no hesitation. These bonds aren’t performative; they’re deeply real."

The superstar has also said he cannot imagine his family without Reena and Kiran, describing them as lifelong members of his inner circle.

Will Reena and Kiran be at Aamir Khan's wedding with Gauri Spratt?

The wedding has been planned as a small, home-based ceremony attended by close family members and longtime friends rather than a star-studded Bollywood affair. According to multiple reports, both Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao are expected to be among the guests. The trio has maintained a warm relationship over the years, with Gauri Spratt also reportedly sharing a cordial bond with both women.

Since introducing Gauri Spratt publicly in 2025, Aamir has revealed that she has become close to his family, including both of his ex-wives. The actor previously shared that therapy and years of self-reflection helped him become a calmer and healthier person before entering this new relationship. Gauri, meanwhile, has said she fell in love with Aamir because of his kindness, describing him as "kind, a gentleman, and caring." Aamir once shared:

"Gauri is meeting a different Aamir now, a more healed version. A little more at ease. Hopefully, a little better."

Aamir and Gauri will reportedly register their marriage today, July 5, 2026, under the Special Marriage Act before hosting a simple ceremony attended by around 100 to 150 guests, including family, childhood friends and a handful of close associates. With his children expected to be present alongside Reena Dutta, Kiran Rao and Gauri Spratt's son, the wedding is shaping up to reflect the actor's modern definition of family, one built on respect, friendship and companionship, even after relationships evolve.
