What to eat:

  • Meat (chicken, beef, lamb, turkey, pork), fish and shellfish: They should be boiled, stewed or cooked in oven.

  • Eggs: Organic eggs will be best, but if you can’t find those then go with regular ones. You can have them boiled, fried, scrambled or omelette with few drops of oil.
  • Vegetables that grow above the ground: cabbage, cauliflower, mushrooms, cucumber, onions, peppers, tomatoes, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, asparagus, zucchini, eggplant, olives, spinach, lettuce, avocado etc. Although, potato is not grown above ground, but you can still eat it provided they are boiled, baked or grilled.

  • Fat rich natural dairy products: Greek/Turkish yoghurt, butter, sour cream, cream cheese, high fat cheeses etc.
  • Nuts and seeds: Walnuts, almonds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, hazelnuts, Brazilian nuts, Cashew nuts (within limits) etc.

  • Oil: Go for vegetable fat like olive oil.
  • Other items: Oats, rye and other grains.

You can eat these items, but not more than twice during a 7-day period as they might slow down the weight loss process.

  • Vegetables: Beet, carrot and celery.
  • Fruits: Fruits contain sugar in them, so if you are craving for something really sweet, then have one fruit a day instead of any other sweet treat.

  • Chocolates: And, if you really want to eat chocolate then have some dark chocolate with 70% or above cocoa content.
  • Drinks: Dry red or white wine, whisky, brandy and vodka.

What not to eat:

It might be difficult to control, but you have to strictly follow this for best results.

  • Beverages: Sodas, sweetened juices and beer.
  • Refined oils and margarine. Also, avoid skimmed and regular milk as they can contain high amount of milk sugar.

  • Sweets: Pastry, sugars, cakes, chocolates, desserts, ice cream, muffins, granola bars, artificial sweeteners and sweetened dairy products.
  • Grains, starches and other items: muesli, bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, French fries, chips, porridge, legumes, beans and lentils, since they are rich in carbs.
