Sumona Chakravarti is one of the most popular actresses in the television industry. She has worked in many popular TV shows and films like Kick, Bade Acche Lagte Hai, Dev, Phir Se, Shonar Bengal, and many more. However, it was her stint in the comedy show, The Kapil Sharma Show, that made her gain immense popularity among the masses. But, we have often heard the show's host, Kapil Sharma, cracking jokes about Sumona's lips. And now, the actress opened up about the same and revealed that she felt bad about it.
In an interview with Habit Coach, Sumona Chakravarti opened up about the popular show, The Kapil Sharma Show and recalled an old incident. Talking about the same, the actress shared that the team attempted to crack jokes about her mouth during the initial days of the show. However, the jokes about her appearances didn't work. The diva added that later the same jokes worked well, and she was upset about it. Elaborating more on it, Sumona said:
"Then they dropped it, and eventually, in the other shows, it sort of worked. And I remember I felt really bad."

Sumona further added that there was a time when she was not feeling good. Talking about the same, the actress mentioned that it was Archana Puran Singh, who made her feel comefortable with the same at that time. The actress further revealed she felt bad when Kapil made fun of her appearance. In her words:
"I remember Archana sat with me and said ‘why are you upset?’ I said ‘they’ve made fun of my mouth and my lips and everything, and then I didn’t forget the lines he forgot and he said something off script. I’m not a stand-up comedian; I can’t just come up with funny jokes like that. I mean, if I crack a joke, nobody will understand it."
In the same conversation, Sumona revealed how Archana comforted her and made her understand that rather than feeling bad about the jokes, she should laugh at them. The actress added that Archana also told her that she should love her lips because there are women out there who actually pay money to get lips like hers. In her words:
"If you can laugh at yourself, you will never feel humiliated. Secondly, about the lip or the mouth part, you have something that women I know pay money to get."

Sumona also talked about the people who often ask her about Kapil making fun of her mouth. The actress also mentioned that earlier, she was very self-conscious and insecure about her lips. Concluding her talk, Sumona said that she has changed for the better. She mentioned that over the years, she has learned to love herself and accept the way she is.
