Navya Nanda has been garnering a lot of public attention these days. Despite having hailed from two influential families of Bollywood, the Bachchans and the Kapoors, the talented lady has carved her own niche and has been performing phenomenally in her career. At a very young age, she successfully runs her own company, Aara Health and has been driving a lot of social-centric causes and programs for the benefit of women. She has also hosted her own podcast show titled, What The Hell Navya which featured her mother, Shweta Bachchan and her grandmother, Jaya Bachchan discussing various women-oriented matters.
In a recent interview with Josh Talks, Navya Naveli Nanda opened up on how she had been raised in a film family, who have an egalitarian approach towards life. She also revealed how that kind of instinct has been ushered into both her and her brother, Agastya Nanda’s upbringing, since they both have been trained to make their own money as well as contribute equally to household chores. Moreover, she also revealed that since she has been encouraged to run her own company, on the other hand, her brother too does not shy away from making tea for the guests at home. In her words:
“The responsibility of financing and budgeting was split equally between us. And now that we are both earning independently, we understand the value of money. I do what my brother does, and he does what I do. I can handle household finances, but if guests are coming over, he can make tea for them.”

Going further in the interview, Navya also touched upon a special aspect of her upbringing, and revealed that one word of advice she has received from her granny, Jaya Bachchan. She mentioned how her dadi has taught her to value a homemaker as much as CEO of a company, since she believes that the women has much higher entrepreneurial and management skills. Navya also added that in matters like these, her mother, Shweta Bachchan has also raised her and her brother quite similarly. She mentioned:
“I’ll tell you something my grandmother told me, which I’ll always remember. She said that women are the best entrepreneurs, they are born with management skills… A housewife’s job at home is no different from what a CEO of a company does… My mother has raised me and my brother in a similar way.”
In a previous interview with Barkha Dutt, Navya Nanda’s mother, Shweta Bachchan had opened up on her parental skills and had revealed that there were times when she had been tougher in raising her daughter, as compared to that with her son, Agastya. However, she had justified her move since she feels that the world at large is seemingly not easy on women and that she wanted her daughter, Navya to be raised strong right from the beginning.

Despite belonging from two major film families, Navya harbours no interest in directing her career into the world of films. Instead, she is whole heartedly devoted to societal work, which gives her immense pleasure. Proof of the same was found a few months back when she had dropped a glimpse of her visit to the villages in Gujarat. However, what stunned everyone was the fact that despite being a star-kid, she was unusually skilled in driving a tractor like a pro.
