Complete Menu For A Winter Wedding

If you want your wedding to create a splash in your social circle, then you must pay special attention to the food you serve to your guests. Instead of having traditional buffet items, you should consider the following ideas.

Drinks and Starters

Hot Chocolate: Everyone likes hot chocolate during winter and if it is topped with some marshmallows and whipped cream, your guests will be in heaven. So do something different in your wedding. Give the boot to soft drinks and serve steaming cuppas of hot chocolate.

Pakodas with Chatni and Chai: Instead of having fancy starters which the older generation won’t really appreciate, why not give them yummy pakodas with meetha and teekha chatni. Lets the youngsters enjoy their hot chocolate while the elders sip on masala chai as your wedding takes place.

Main Course

Non-Veg: Meat must feature in a winter wedding. After all, who does not love Rogan Josh with basmati rice? Chicken soup, chicken stew and meatballs are also loved by one and all. Serving fish is best avoided in as it can be quite tricky for guests to eat it. Serve simple dishes so that your guests don’t have to worry about accidentally swallowing a bone.

Vegetarian Dishes: Besides this, don’t forget that winter is a great season for serving vegetarian dishes as well. Amazing produce is available during this time and you must source fresh organic produce to make your buffet lip smacking delicious. Sarso da saag and makke di roti are always a crowd pleaser during winter, especially, if you have a chef preparing fresh rotis for every guest.

Fusion Recipes: The trend of having fusion recipes is really catching on in India and you can ask your caterer to customize each dish according to your preference. Spinach can be served up different ways. Instead of going for the same old palak paneer, why don’t you for palak choley? Other vegetables which you must feature on your buffet include methi malai, mixed vegetables, piping hot tawa paneer masala and so on.

Indian desserts: Desserts are probably the most important part of a wedding buffet.

Must-Avoid: You must avoid serving cold desserts like rasgullas and malai sandwich for a winter wedding as it will not really go down well with guests.

An assorted miniature aflatoon platter can impress even a seasoned gourmet. So why not give it a shot?
